【FACT】衝撃の最新MVの“最終版”を15周年記念サイトで公開！

　ニューアルバム『witness』の発売を控えるFACTが、新曲「disclosure」のMVを特設サイトにて解禁した。

　それは1月末、何の告知もなく突如YouTubeにアップされたドラムのみの演奏ビデオから始まった。「新曲のビデオなのか？」「ただのおふざけなのか？」と様々な憶測を呼び、その後同様に各楽器隊のソロ映像がアップされると、新曲のパート別映像を段階的にアップしていることに気付いたコアなファンがSNS上で次々に拡散。ファンのみならず多くのリスナーの間で盛り上がりを見せ始めた。複数のスマートフォンを用いて同時再生することで、曲の全貌をいち早く知ろうとする人、どんなメロディーが乗るのか？を予想し合うファン同士などが現れ、結成15周年を記念して立ち上げられた特設サイトでは、それらの映像を同時再生できる仕組みも発表された。

　そして先日、ヴォーカルまで入った完成形の曲を乗せたオーソドックスなMVが公開され、企画は終了したはずだった。しかし誰もが完成したと思っていたこの流れには、まだ続きがあった。15周年特設サイト上でリンクされた最終版ビデオを再生すると、平面と思っていた世界が平面ではなくなったり、床と思っていた所が空中であったり、サイト上のある“誤り"までもが、全てこの真の最終版のための布石となっている。

　所属レーベルツアー「maximum10 tour」の東京公演では、この「disclosure」がライブ初披露され、その「独自性」「新しさ」にアルバムへの期待を語るリスナー達からの声が凄まじい。このようにFACTが大盛況のラウドシーンにおける『パイオニア』『牽引者』として評さ背景には、彼等が作品を発表するたびに、ポスト・ハードコア、スクリーモ、メタルコアといった当初マイナーだったジャンルが人気を得たり、エレクトロニカな要素をフィーチャーしたことで、ダンス・ミュージックを敬遠してきたシーンのバンドマンたちがプログラミングを多用した音源制作やライヴを行うことが当たり前になったり、角度を変えれば00年代以降のラウドシーンのバンドたちが果敢に挑む欧米進出の先駆者であることも含め、ジャンルや国といったあらゆる壁を越えて、新たなムーヴメントや常識を生み出してきたという、バンドシーンへの独自の影響力が存在する。事実、直近アルバム2作は、国内でのメディアへの露出も少なく、全曲英語詞にも関わらず、連続トップ10入りを果たしており、これは、FACTが動くことで「また次の新時代への扉が開くかもしれない」という期待が具現化してきた証しだ。

　なお、今回、同時発表されたアルバムのジャケットは、The Dillinger Escape Plan、Converge、Agoraphobic Nosebleedなど世界のそうそうたるバンドのカバー・アートを手掛けたドイツ人「Florian Bertmer」による日本的な美的感覚も取り入れたアートワークで、一度見たら忘れられない強烈なインパクトを放っている。ヨーロッパでの新たなマネジメントが決定したとの情報もあり、今後も彼らのジャンルレスかつボーダレスな動きから目が離せない。新曲披露中の「maximum10 tour」は、残り4本。新たなシーンが生まれる瞬間を、是非、直に体感してみてはどうだろうか？
