アイアイ(菜月アイル)とみきぴょん(磯野未来)のツインヴォーカル・バンドDoggy`s Camp、ついに始動

2024年4月8日、恵比寿LIQUIDROOMでの公演を持って、12年間の活動に終止符を打ったCANDY GO!GO!。メンバーの菜月アイルと磯野未来は、その後、それぞれソロアイドルとして新しい道を歩みだした。今でも2人は、ソロとしての活動を軸に据えている。でも2人は、それぞれにソロ活動を行いながら、水面下で新たな動きも押し進めていた。それがDoggy`s Campと命名したバンドでの活動だ。

Doggy`s Campは、アイアイ(菜月アイル)とみきぴょん(磯野未来)のツインヴォーカルを軸に据え、そこへ奇妙な犬のマスクをかぶったラッパーのシロが絡み合う、エモいビートロックなスタイルを軸に据えたバンド。メンバーは、みきぴょん(Vo)、アイアイ(Vo)、シロ(Rap)、カレーラ鈴木(G)、メイメイ(B)、kunikuni(Dr)の7名。メンバーが集まった経緯について、みきぴょんが以下のように述べている。

「Doggy`s Campのリーダーでありベーシストのメイメイさんとラッパーのシロさんは、わたしの（オンライン）ゲームの仲間なんですよ。そこで仲良く交流しあっていく中、メイメイさんがバンドでベースを弾いていたことを。シロさんも、ラップをやっていた経験があることを知り，そこから「趣味でバンドをやろうか」という話で盛りあがったのが、そもそもの発端でした。しばらくネット上での交流が続く中、CANDY GO!GO!の解散が決定。当時の自分は音楽活動を続けるのか、このまま辞めてしまうのか迷いもあった時期。そんな中で、あくまでも遊びの延長でバンドを楽しもうという話になり、同じゲームに参加していたアイアイと、CANDY GO!GO!のバンドメンバーとして参加していたカレーラ鈴木さんも誘いだしたことが、Doggy`s Campが誕生するきっかけになりました。そのうえで、メイメイさんが、知り合いのドラマーということでAraraさんを紹介。 でもAraraさんは「自分はギターで参加したい。いいドラマーがいるから連れてくるよ」ということで紹介を受けたのが、kunikuniさん。それで、このメンバーが揃いました。具体的に動き出したのは、4月8日にCANDY GO!GO!の解散ライブを終えて以降になります」(みきぴょん)。


Doggy`s Campの始動ライブは、8月18日に新宿redclothで行われる。この日のイベントには、Qtwins/ASH FRＡST/夏井さらが出演。みきぴょんとアイアイは、CANDY GO!GO!時代に活動していたユニットCrusherとしてオープニングアクトを飾ることも発表になった。

「今回は、ガールズを全面に押し出したメンバーを揃えています。プラス、夏井(さら)も加えつつね。ただ、イベント的に夏井の個性も生かせるように、CANDY GO!GO!時代に活動をしていたCrusher(菜月アイル/磯野未来)としても出演しようと決めました。こちらも懐かしがってもらえたら嬉しいです。
今回は女性アーティストをメインに組みましたけど。Doggy`s Campは男性メンバーのほうが多いバンドですし、むしろ、男性ばかりのバンドと積極的に絡んでいきたいんですよ。ヴォーカルの2人が女性だからと言って、ガールスバンドだと思われたくはない。普通にロックバンドとしてのスタンスでDoggy`s Campは活動をしていきたいなと思っています」(みきぴょん)

バンドという新たな動きを示したみきぴょんとアイアイ、8月18日に向けて、これからいろんな発表もしてゆく。ぜひ、Doggy`s Campの動きに注目していただきたい。
