ラモーンズが結成40周年＆公開10周年記念として自身のドキュメンタリー映画をリバイバル上映！

ラモーンズの音楽ドキュメンタリー映画『END OF THE CENTURY』が劇場公開10周年＆バンド結成40周年を記念してリバイバル公開をする事が決定した。

結成40周年を迎え、デビューアルバム『ラモーンズの激情』のゴールドディスク受賞も決まり、CJ ラモーンは来日決定とラモーンズマニアにとっては楽しい1年になるはずだった2014年だが、そんな矢先に飛び来んできたのはオリジナルメンバーでドラマーでありプロデューサーでもあったトミー・ラモーンの訃報…。悲しみの中、CJ ラモーンはファンのために11月に来日を決定し、何と『ラモーンズの激情』全曲を披露するとのこと。このタイミングに合わせ日本公開からちょうど10年になる大ヒットドキュメンタリー映画『END OF THE CENTUERY』のリバイバル上映も決定した。悲しみを乗り越え、今一度彼らの偉大なる勇姿を目に焼き付けてほしい。

■映画「END OF THE CENTURY」
70年代のニューヨクに誕生し、パンク・ロックの先駆けとして約 20 年間にわたって変らぬスタイルで走り抜けた伝説のバンド“ラモーズ"の光と影に迫ったドキュメタリー。在籍した全てのメンバーの赤裸々なインタビューに加え、彼らをリスペクトする多くのミュージシャンがラモーンズへの思いを熱く語る。なお日本公開直前の2004年9月15日にはジョーイ、ディー・ディーに続いてジョニー・ラモーンの訃報も伝えられた。1974年、ニューヨークのライブハウスCBGBを拠点に活動をスタートさせたラモーンズ。1曲2分足らずの曲をノンストップで演奏し続ける独特のスタイルは、瞬く間にアンダーグラウンド・シーンで話題となり地元の人気バンドとなる。やがて76年のデビュー・アルバム『ラモーンズの激情』は海を渡ったヨーロッパにも衝撃を与え、その後のパンク・ムーブメントの火付け役として多くのフォロワーを生み出すことになった。しかし一方でアメリカ国内では成功を収めるまでには行かず、次第にメンバー同士の確執も増していった・・・。
