[Alexandros]、初の海外単独公演で台湾のファンが大合唱

[Alexandros]初の海外単独公演が12月5日、台湾・台北のライヴハウス THE WALLで行われた。

中華圏ではみんなで夕食を取ってからコンサート会場に行くという文化があるらしく、開演時間は日本より少し遅めの夜8:00。会場には600人を超えるお客さんが集まり、今か今かと開演を待ち詫びていると、お馴染み「Burger Queen」のSEが流れ、メンバーが登場。1曲目の「Run Away」からボルテージは一気に上昇、会場全体が一緒になって拳を振り上げ揺れた。3曲目に披露された「Waitress, Waitress!」では、日本国内のライヴでは恒例となっている掛け声も自然に発生し、ここが異国の地とは思えないほどの盛り上がりを見せた。

MCでは英語と日本語、両方で現地のお客さんとコミュニケーションを取る川上洋平（Vo）と磯部寛之（B）に対し、白井眞輝（G）はなんと流暢な中国語をMCで披露。「謝謝大家今天來（シェシェダジャジンテンライ＝今日来てくれてありがとう）」と呼びかけると、台湾ファンは割れんばかりの歓声で応え、大好きな日本のロックバンドが台湾で単独ライヴを開催することに、改めて喜びを噛み締めているようであった。

「Cat 2」「Rocknrolla!」などのアップテンポの曲で攻めた前半から、中盤は「Travel」「Spy」と、立て続けにメロウな楽曲も披露。激しく踊っていた前半と打って変わって、表情の違うドラマチックな歌唱に会場全体が聴き惚れていた。

後半のMCでは「“THE WALL"という“カベ"を越えて、いつか台北アリーナでライヴをやるから！ その時は、このTHE WALLで[Alexandros]のライヴを観たんだって自慢してくれよ！」と川上洋平が力強く宣言。「Starrrrrrr」「Kick&Spin」で会場を大合唱＆ダンスに導き、あまりの盛り上がりのせいか、川上洋平の着用していたブーツが壊れてしまうというハプニングも。そして最後に「Adventure」で再び大合唱を巻き起こし、ステージを後にした。

しかし、まだこの最高の夜を終わらせたくない台湾ファンは、アンコールをメンバーの心へ伝えるべく、なんと「Adventure」の後半のコーラスを歌い出すという場面も。これにもちろん応え、川上洋平一人でステージに再登場。その見事なアンコールに「自分の曲でアンコールをされたことがなかったので、感動した」と、台湾ファンの熱心さに感謝の意を表し、アンコールでは滅多にやらないという「This Is Teenage」をギター一本で披露。その後メンバーを招き入れ、「For Freedom」で熱いアンコールを終了した。

しかしながら、客電がついてもまだまだ帰りたくないという台湾ファンの熱心なアンコールに応え、Wアンコールへ。まさにこの素晴らしい観客に捧げたであろう、「You're So Sweet & I Love You」で約2時間半のステージを締めくくった。改めて、[Alexandros]の音楽が確実に国を越えて拡がっていることを感じさせる、初の海外単独公演であった。
