DuelJewelが2015年第一弾となるシングルをリリース

前作のフルアルバムStoryがオリコンインディーズチャートで2位を獲得し、ますます勢いに乗るDuelJewelが本日1月28日、ニューシングル「雪のアスタリスク」をリリースした。

昨年自身最多本数となる全25公演にもわたる全国ツアーを成功させ、その間にレコーディングもこなしたという今回の作品は、彼らの得意分野でもある壮大な冬のバラードを表題曲としたシングル。

まさに冬の情景が目に浮かぶ様な表題曲「雪のアスタリスク」は、ボーカル隼人の艶やかな声が楽曲とマッチして、どこか懐かしい気持ちにさせてくれる楽曲だ。初回限定盤に収録されているDVD「雪のアスタリスク」のMVもその美しい映像で、楽曲の世界観をさらに引き立たせる綺麗で幻想的な作品となっている。

カップリングに収録されている「MASK」は、表題曲を最後まで争ったというだけあるDuelJewelらしいキャッチーで勢いのある楽曲だ。通常盤にはさらにギターShun作曲の「Stay Strong」が収録されていて、今までのDuelJewelにありそうで無かったファンキーかつアグレシッブな楽曲となっており、ライブでオーディエンスが盛り上がる姿が目に浮かぶ。

3曲全て作曲者が違うため三者三様な楽曲が一度に楽しめる本作品は、メンバー全員が作曲をこなすDuelJewelならではの魅力が詰まっていると言える。

そんな今作品リリース直後の2月1日には渋谷公会堂ワンマン「TRUE STORY」を開催するDuelJewel。ライブハウスのみならずホールでのワンマンにも定評のある彼らの作り出す世界は必見だ。
