DRAGONFORCEも絶賛のガールズメタルバンド・Mary's Bloodが最新アルバム詳細を発表

現在アジアツアーを敢行中で、9月5日には来日公演を控えるUKの人気メタルバンド・DRAGONFORCEの香港公演のオープニングを大盛況のうちに終えたMary's Bloodが、10月7日発売のニューアルバム『Bloody Palace』のジャケット写真と詳細を発表した。

Mary's Bloodは、8月31日に行なわれたDRAGONFORCEの香港公演に日本のバンドながら異例の大抜擢を受け、会場に集まった満員のオーディエンスの前にオープニング・アクトとして堂々としたステージを展開した。オープニングを飾った代表曲「Marionette」からオーディエンスの心をつかんだMary's Bloodは、広東語のMCで場を和ませた後は、畳み掛ける様に楽曲を演奏し、海外での大役を見事に務めあげた。DRAGONFORCEの本編終了後には、ヴォーカルのマーク・ハドソンより「Mary's Blood」と再度の紹介を受け、またその後のパーティーでも各メンバーより大絶賛をうけるなど、日本のガールズ・メタル・バンドとして大きな存在感を示すライブとなった。

そんなMary's Bloodのセカンド・アルバム『Bloody Palace』は、前作『Countdown to　Evolution』を踏襲しつつも、よりヘヴィに、より激しく、彼女たちが考えるメタルを具現化した作品。黒を基調にした新しいアーティスト写真も含め、より硬派な路線を打ち出したアルバムとなっている。オープニング曲「The Gate of Palace」からアルバム『Bloody Palace』への扉を開き、足を踏み込んだ後は、一気にたたみこまれるようは怒涛の楽曲群が襲い来る内容となっている。

さらに、新曲「Moebius Loop」のミュージック・ビデオも9月14日に公開予定されることを発表。過去にはマーティー・フリードマンの来日公演で共演し賛辞を送られるなど、海外から高い支持を受けているMary's Blood。今後明らかになるセカンド・アルバムの全貌と、彼女たちの動向に是非注目してほしい。
