SA、ツアーファイナルで完全燃焼＆自主企画開催も決定

昨年11月の千葉よりスタートした『LOVE'N'ROLL TOUR』は1月29日、SA初となる赤坂BLITZでツアーファイナルを迎えた。

「ハロー！トーキョー！　オラが町にSAが来たぜ!!」TASEI（Vo.）の野太い声とともに「CLUNKER A GO-GO」でライヴの火蓋は切って落とされると、右へ左にフロアが揺れた「槍もて弓もて」、高く頭上に掲げたクラップが咲き乱れた「KIDZ IGNITE」と、初っ端からの畳かけに会場全体のボルテージが上昇していく。

「2017年SA決起集会へようこそ！！」NAOKI（Gt.）の声に大歓声で応えるコムレイズ（※SAファンの総称）。すると、TAISEIが神妙な面持ちで口を開いた。「2017年、オレにとってとても悲しい話があります……。こんな格好してますけども、今年で50歳です！」そんな真っ青なエドワードジャケットをまとった50歳を迎えるリーゼントのボーカリストを讃えるように、温かい拍手と声援が送られた。

「ロックで人生台無しだ！」というTAISEIの叫びで始まった「runnin' BUMPY WAY」、16ビートの「ケリをつけろ」でまくしたてていく。SHOHEI（Dr.）のタイトなリズムに笑顔を見せながらグルーヴを絡めていくKEN（Ba.）がバンドと会場の熱量をさらに引き上げる。

「離れていってしまったヤツもいるけど、新しく出会えたヤツも今日いっぱい来てくれていると思います」SAは現メンバーで16年目に突入する。その間に多くの別れと出会いがあったことをTAISEIが口にした。「男と女の別れは悲しいけどさ、男同士の別れはもっと寂しいぜ、というそんな気持ちを歌った曲」と紹介した「Andy」を力強く歌い上げた。

「ちょっと長い英文だけど、もうお前たちは歌えるよね？　先にオレが行きます」と、歌い出したNAOKIに誘われるようにコムレイズが歌い、TAISEIへと継がれていく。そんな風に始まった「YOUR DOOR」が終わると、NAOKIがCOBRA時代に憧れのジョー・ストラマーとここ赤坂BLITZで対バンしたこと、そしてあれから十数年、自分がジョー・ストラマーの年齢を超えてしまったことを話した。

「誰がための人生だ」では歌詞をはっきりと噛み締めるように歌い、拳を突き上げるコムレイズたちの顔を一人一人見つめ、指をさし、確認するように自分の胸をたたくTAISEIの姿が印象的だった。しっとり歌い上げた「はじめてのバラード」は、男女のラブバラードのつもりで作ったが、本ツアーを経て、コムレイズと15年やってきたメンバーのことを思って歌う曲になったという。

SAのスローガンでもある「否定をするな、受け入れろ!!」のTAISEIの叫びからのラストスパート。「DON'T DENNY, GIVE IT A TRY!!」「GET UP! WARRIORS」「情熱　WINNER」と怒涛のアッパーチューンの応酬で会場は最高潮の熱気に包まれた。

最後は「START ALL OVER AGAIN!」「ピーハツグンバツ WACKY NIGHT」でSAもコムレイズもバリバリハッピーに笑顔を見せながら本編は終了した。

アンコールは、＜愛でもくらえ！＞と、ツアータイトルにもなっている「LOVE'N'ROLL 」、そして最後の最後はコムレイズみんなが肩組んだ「GO BARMY KIDS」で大団円を迎えた。

「16年目もガツガツドカドカで攻めていきますんで。パンクの枠の中にいるのは楽ちんでしょうよ。だけどよ、SAはSAなりのハメ外して、SAのパンク、いわば、『ジャンルはSA』で行きたいわけ!!」　──TAISEI

自称“懐の深くてセンスのある”五十路バンド、SAはこれからもその生き様で我々を魅了し続けるのだろう。
