THE YELLOW MONKEY、再集結！約17年ぶりの東京ドーム公演2daysで10万人を魅了!!

THE YELLOW MONKEYが2001年の活動休止前のラストライブ以来、約17年振りとなる東京ドーム公演を12月9日（土）・10日（日）の二日間で開催し、10万人の観客を魅了した。

メインステージのタイマーがカウント0になり『ウェルカム！』吉井の一声を合図にセンターステージに置かれた巨大な卵の中からTHE YELLOW MONKEYが登場。割れんばかりの歓声の中、活動休止前最後の東京ドーム公演のラストを飾った「WELCOME TO MY DOGHOUSE」でステージは幕を開けた。代表曲やライブ定番曲をたたみかけ、ライブ前半から会場のボルテージは最高潮へ。

後半戦は総勢20名のストリングスをしたがえ、ドーム公演を意識して制作された新曲「Stars」から「SUCK OF LIFE」と花道からセンターステージ、メインステージへとドームの空間を所狭しと動き回る。「バラ色の日々」「太陽が燃えている」と代表曲を連発し、メインステージの両サイドに女性の足を形取ったバルーンが現れ、花道ではモデル40名が取り囲む演出でステージをショウアップ。『東京ドーム2DAYS 二日間ともおかげさまでSOLD OUTとなりまして、本当に感謝しております。昨日来てくれたみんなも本当にどうもありがとう。去年から始まったこの再集結のアニバーサリー、たくさんの人たちに祝福してもらいました。とても感無量、幸せという言葉しかない2年間だったのですが、これからいつまでもそんな祝福モードで活動するわけにはいきません。さらなるチャレンジをどんどんしていかなければいけない。この東京ドームも再集結における大事なミッションでした。今年まだヤフオクドームが福岡で残っていますが、ヤフオクドームがおわったら、気合を入れなおして日本に今までいなかったバンドになっていこうと思っています。皆さんこれからも改めて宜しくお願いします。』と、これからのバンドの新たな決意とともに「JAM」を披露、デビュー25周年、新旧織り交ぜたセットリストで約2時間半のステージは幕を閉じた。

THE YELLOW MONKEYは、12月28日（木）にバンド結成記念日恒例の『メカラ ウロコ』公演を“九州SPECIAL”と銘打ち、福岡ヤフオク!ドームにて開催することが決定。東京ドームとは異なる内容となるので、こちらも期待が高まる。
