布袋寅泰、親交の深いZuccheroのイタリアツアーにゲスト出演

布袋寅泰が、イタリアで絶大な人気を誇るアーティスト・Zuccheroのライブにスペシャルゲストとして出演した。布袋が出演したのはZuccheroが現在行なっている『WANTED Italian Tour 2018』の2月28日トリノと3月2日ミラノで行なわれたライブの2公演。二人はこれまでも、2016年5月に六本木ヒルズアリーナで行われた日伊国交150周年記念イベント『Italia, amore mio!』、2016年9月にイタリア・ヴェローナと10月のイギリス・ロイヤル・アルバート・ホールで行われたZuccheroの単独公演での共演や、布袋の日本ツアーにZuccheroがゲスト出演、2017年はイタリアの国民的テレビ番組である『サンレモ音楽祭』でも共演するなど、親交を深めている。

アリーナ公演がスタートし、3曲目「Ti voglio sposare」のイントロで「from Tokyo, Hotei!」とZuccheroから呼び込まれる形で布袋がステージに登場。Zuccheroとの共演を通じ、イタリアでの布袋のギタリストとしての知名度は高く、登場した際の歓声は期待感にあふれていた。「Ti voglio sposare」は2016年にリリースされたZuccheroのアルバム『Black Cat』からの楽曲で、レコーディングやMVにも布袋自身が参加している。

2度目の登場は、コンサート中盤「Iruben me」「Il mare」の2曲。バラード「Iruben me」の壮大で情熱的なギターソロを布袋が弾き終わった瞬間、15,000人のオーディエンスは総立ちとなり大歓声が沸き起こった。さらに熱狂的なアンコールで再登場！　「Libidine」のうねるようなギターリフでズッケロとオーディエンスを踊らせた。布袋はトリノ、ミラノ公演ともに4曲でゲスト出演。渾身のギターパフォーマンスでイタリアのオーディエンスに“ギタリスト HOTEI”として強烈なインパクトを残した。

そして、10月20日にはロンドンのシェファーズ・ブッシュ・エンパイアでの単独公演を控えているが、10月11日の初のミラノでヘッドラインショーを行なうことが発表された。渡英6年目の布袋が確かな一歩を踏み出したことを証明したこのライブ。今後の海外でのオーディエンスの反応が楽しみだ。
