MASH A&R、7年目のオーディションはリスナー参加型にリニューアル

「MUSICA」「A-Sketch」「SPACE SHOWER TV」「HIP LAND MUSIC」の4社共同出資により発足した「MASH A&R」が、7年目となるオーディションを4月2日（月）よりスタートした。2017年度は“グランプリ該当者なし”となり、この結果を受けてオーディションのさらなる活性化、応募アーティストやバンドへのチャンスを広げることを目的として、2018年度はオーディション自体を大幅にリニューアルしたという。

リニューアルの大きな目玉として、毎月のMONTHLY ARTISTを対象にリスナーからのWeb投票を行なうとのこと。投票数が一番多かったアーティストは無条件で11月に実施される『MASH FIGHT! Vol.7 SEMI FINAL』へ駒を進め、MASH A&Rが選抜したアーティストと共にライヴ審査を受けることになる。応募曲やMVのクオリティ、そしてセンスやソウルから実感する可能性に評価のウェイトを置くことは今までと変わらないが、新たなロックシーンの口火を切っていくのは常に“現場”であり、現場とはすなわちリスナーからの発信や影響力だとMASH A&Rは考える。そんな新しい時代の流れをダイレクトにオーディションへ反映していくことを目的に、より“参加型オーディション”へとリニューアルした。

応募期間は4月から9月までの半年間。決勝大会の前に、いわば準決勝的なるライヴ審査『MASH FIGHT! Vol.7 SEMI FINAL』を11月4日（日）に渋谷 TSUTAYA O-nestにて開催される。MASH A&Rがセレクトした応募者とリスナー投票で選ばれた応募者の合計12組（予定）が出演し、オーディエンスも交えたライヴ形式によるオーディションが行なわれるとのこと。その『MASH FIGHT! Vol.7 SEMI FINAL』を勝ち抜いた応募者は、12月15日（土）に渋谷WWWで開催する『MASH FIGHT! Vol.7 FINAL MATCH』へ進出し、グランプリを賭けて最終ライヴ審査に参加することになる。

アーティストの発掘＆育成、そしてデビューから成功までを一気に引き受けるプロジェクト「MASH A&R」。新たな7年目のオーディションからは、より“みんな”とより“ライヴ感”をもって、2020年代へ向けた新しいロックシーンを作っていくことになるだろう。気になる方は、ぜひオーディションに応募してみてはいかがだろうか。
