HAPPYが6月に2作目となるシングルをリリース！

　新時代のロックを鳴らすバンド「HAPPY」が 6月9日にタワーレコード限定（初回生産限定）で 両A面シングル 「Wake Up / Lucy」をリリース!!

　2012年1月11日に京都府出身の幼なじみで結成された4人組バンド、HAPPY。昨年2013年の「SUMMER SONIC 13」出演や米ロックバンドThe Flaming Lipsのオープニングアクトをきっかけに話題を集め、現在知名度急上昇中のなか、3月にバンドとして初となる流通音源「SUN」をタワーレコード限定でリリースした。そして、同シングルがタワレコデイリーインディーチャート1位、総合チャートで3位を獲得し全国にHAPPYファン急増していく中、今年3月にはアメリカ テキサス州オースティンで開催された世界最大の音楽見本市「サウス・バイ・サウス・ウェスト14」（SXSW14）に出演。その際に、アメリカで先行発売し、「SXSW」も含むUS Tour（アメリカ8都市10公演）で完売したシングル「Wake Up / Lucy」をリマスタリングし2ndシングルとして国内リリースする。

　20歳の衝動が溢れる「Wake Up」と、ルーツミュージックを消化してきたHAPPYだからこそのポップ性を発揮した「Lucy」の2曲を両A面とする今回のシングル。カップリングには70’s USバンド The Modern Loversの「Government Center」のカヴァーを収録しており、ドラムBobがメインボーカルを担当し、HAPPY流POPセンス溢れるアレンジに仕上がっている。「Wake Up」はAlecc(Vo.Gt.)、「Lucy」はRic(Vo.Syn.)、そして「Government Center」はBobと、シングル収録の3曲のメインボーカルがそれぞれ違うのもHAPPYの魅力だ。

　今月27日に「ARABAKI ROCK FEST14」への出演が決定している他、同シングルリリース後の6月17日からはバンドとして初となる国内ツアー（7公演、ツアーファイナルは6月29日の渋谷 TOWER RECORDS SHIBUYA B1F CUTUP STUDIO）が決定しているHAPPY。新時代のダンスミュージック、新世代のロックサウンドを生み出す彼らは今後も要注目だ。
