KANA-BOONが「閃光ライオット」3次審査にてサプライズライブを披露

　KANA-BOONが7月20日に大阪BIGCATで行なわれた「閃光ライオット」3次ライブ審査にて、サプライズライブを繰り広げた。

　今年で7回目の開催となる「閃光ライオット」は、未来の鍵を握るラジオの中の学校「SCHOOL OF LOCK!」と、Sony Music、auが主催する10代アーティスト限定の夏フェス。およそ1万組の応募の中から、“超"狭き門を見事通過し、3次ライブ審査への切符を手に入れたのは、レギュラーステージ47組とダンスステージ22組の計69組。この日の大阪では、そのうち、レギュラーステージ8組とダンスステージ4組が出場。3次審査出場アーティストの全ライブが終了すると、司会を務めるTOKYO FM「SCHOOL OF LOCK!」のとーやま校長とよしだ教頭がステージに登場。そして、サプライズゲストにKANA-BOONが駆けつけてくれた事を告げると、集まったオーディエンスは大歓声でKANA-BOONを迎え入れた。

　「エントリーナンバー9番、大阪・堺から来ましたKANA-BOONです」という短いMCに続き、いきなりキラーチューン「ないものねだり」でKANA-BOONのライブが幕を開けると、即座に会場内はヒートアップ。彼らはその後も「結晶星」「盛者必衰の理、お断り」といったシングル・ナンバーを連発。谷口鮪（Vo, Gu）は観客に対し「人生何があるか分からない。僕らも3年前は地元のライブハウスで地味な活動をしていたけど、今はこうやってこんなステージで演奏させてもらえるようになりました。今日出演しているバンドも、勝ち進めなかったとしてもあきらめずにずっと音楽を続けて行ってほしい。そして今日見に来てるお客さんも、彼らが表舞台に立つまでずっと応援していって欲しい。」と熱いメッセージを送りながら熱唱。8月27日にリリースする新曲「生きてゆく」を披露し、ラストは「フルドライブ」で締めくくられた。

　「閃光ライオット」の出場者たちと同じように高校時代にバンドを結成し、メジャーデビュー約1年でここまで大きくなった彼ら。8月30日には、泉大津フェニックスにて、1万人を超える規模の野外ワンマンライブを開催する。ライブ後、再びステージに呼び込まれると、いつもの緩いトークも繰り広げられ、野外ワンマンに向けてキャンペーンガールを募集している事もちゃっかりアピールした。「閃光ライオット2014」は、この後、8月31日（日）に新木場スタジオコーストにてファイナルを迎える。
