実力派アーティストが集結したバンド・Derailersが遂にメジャーデビュー！

「Ready to Derail？」＝「脱線する準備は出来てるか？」という言葉と共に、今年の3月5日に1stミニアルバム『Track“0"』を世に放ち、関係者や音楽ファンに大きな衝撃を与えた3ピース・バンド、Derailersが、ついにメジャーデビューを果たす事を発表した。

謎めいたそのメンバー構成は元THE MAD CAPSULE MARKETSのギターリストであり、脱退後は布袋寅泰や大黒摩季、吉川晃司、中島美嘉、LOSALIOSなど多くの著名アーティストのライブサポートやレコーディング等に参加し、ギターリストとして高い評価を受けているAi Ishigakiがギターを担当し、ベースはVAMPSやHYDEのサポートベーシストとしても有名だが、それ以外にもBrian Sezter、Char、Fake?、INORANなどこちらも多くの著名アーティストのライブサポートや楽曲提供、レコーディング等に参加し、そのスキルは絶大な信頼と評価を得ているJu-kenが担当。そして、ヴォーカルを担当するのは2007年に当時18歳の若さでROAD TO 横浜レゲエ祭にて最年少優勝を飾り、今や活動の範囲を全国へと拡大し、毎週のように現場でオリジナルを磨き続け、若者の間ではストリートアイコン的な存在にもなっているラガマフィンディージェイであるRueedが務めている。各々が確固たるスキルと実績を持ち合わせたこのメンバーの顔ぶれを見るだけでもDerailersというバンドが創り出す音楽がどういったものになるのか興味が溢れてくる。年齢もキャリアも、音楽的バックボーンも異なるが、それらの垣根を越えて“音楽"という名のもとに集結し、“規定の音楽"とは異なる“新しい音楽"を創り出し届けてくれることに疑う余地はないと言える。

そんなDerailersの存在を音楽業界が黙っているわけがない。3月から僅か半年。そのDerailersが遂にメジャーシーンへ打って出ることが決定した。彼らのオフィシャルfacebookでは新たな音源制作の模様が伝えられてはいたが、遂に今冬の12月3日に『A.R.T』と名付けられた待望の1st フルアルバムを解き放つことが発表された。さらに、Derailersとして初めてアーティスト写真が公開された。アルバムタイトルの『A.R.T』に紐づいているかのように、写真と言うよりもまるで絵画のような一つのアート作品に仕上がっている。楽曲だけでなくアートワークも連動させて一つの作品が形成されている。こうなるとCDのジャケット写真がどういったものになってくるのか楽しみだ。もちろん一番気になるのはどういった楽曲たちを彼らが生み出したかである。一日も早く音源を聴きたいという衝動に駆られるのだが、なんと9月26日（金）の深夜にTOKYO FMとJFN系列全国38局ネットで毎週金曜深夜25時～29時に放送されているラジオ番組「やまだひさしのラジアンリミテッドF」で新曲が初オンエアされるとのこと。どんな一曲を聴かせてくれるのか楽しみだ。そして、今後徐々に明らかになってくるであろう「A.R.T」の全貌とDerailersの動きに目が離せない。
