【或る感覚】その音を鳴らしているメンバーの人間性を一番に出していきたい

──今年1月に1stアルバム『カウンター』をリリースしたばかりの、20歳男子4人組バンド、或る感覚。2010年結成、11年には10代限定フェス『閃光ライオット』のファイナリストに選出された。

ロン「当時出場した理由のひとつとしては(優勝賞金の)100万円が欲しかったからです(笑)。実は『閃光ライオット』が嫌いだったから、そこで優勝すればカッコ良いかなって思っていたんですけど…そうなれなかったからダサいですよね(苦笑)。10代を対象にしたイベントって、自分が持っている印象としてどうしても“青田買い”っていうか感じがあって。ライヴを観てもあんま良くないのに、ポーンとデビューしてしまってるんじゃないかなって。」

──歯に衣着せぬ物言いから伝わってくるように、楽曲も決して一筋縄ではいかない。ロンの艶やかなヴォーカルが描くメロディーを押し出しながらも、全ての楽器の先が読めない勢いで迫ってくるのだ。

大野「ヴォーカルを引き立てたいけど、俺も前に出たい（笑）。もともとメンバー全員が向上心の塊のようなメンツなので、バンド内での競い合うというか。面白いですよ。」

北原ジャンクション「結成当初は歌モノから始まって、この時は暗さがあったから色で表すと“青”。で、どアングラな…メロディーなんてなくていいって時期を経て、今に至るんですけど（笑）。メロディーが良ければ音楽は何でもいいんだなって気付いて。『カウンター』は内面というか、人間味あふれる感じになったから“赤”だと思います。」

Kou「自分というものをきっちり表現していくって意味で“孤高の存在”になりたいっていうのはあります。周りの評価やシーンの流れに乗っかっていくんじゃなくて、ちゃんとやりたいことをやるという。」

ロン「一番言っておきたいのは、アルバムのラストの「カウンター」の歌詞。“こいつら誰と分かり合えるんだ？”って思われるかもしれないけど、仲良しごっこは大嫌いだから。気を使って言いたいことも言えずに一緒にいてもお互い成長できないじゃないですか。音楽性一本で勝負するバンドが増えましたけど、或る感覚は正直音楽性は何でもいいから、その音を鳴らしているメンバーの人間性を一番に出していきたいんですよ。各々思うことは必ずあって、その思いや感情を音楽で表現してるから。プライドを持って、自分を持って、音楽を届けていきたいですね。」

──野望がぶつかり合いながら、唯一無二の道を目指す或る感覚。やはり、目が離せない。
