モーターヘッドのデビューアルバム＆最初期ライヴ盤が再発

1975年の結成から40年を迎えてなお最前線で活躍を続けるモーターヘッドの初期の2作品が、11月25日に同時発売されることがわかった。

ロックンロールというジャンルにおいて、圧倒的なカリスマ性を放ち、数多くのミュージシャンやロック・ファンからリスペクトされ愛される男、レミー・キルミスター率いるモーターヘッド。今年の『フジロック・フェスティバル』にも出演し、ニューアルバム『バッド・マジック』はドイツ他各国のナショナル・チャートで初登場1位を獲得した。

今回再発されるのは、1977年に英・Chiswick Recordsより世界発売された記念すべきデビューアルバム『MOTÖRHEAD』。これまで何ども再発されてきた本作であるが、今回は世界で初めてオリジナルの日本盤LPを再現した紙ジャケット仕様での発売となる。日本では1978年に初発売された、このデビュー作。当時は『鋼鐵の稲妻』という邦題がつけられて世に出たが、わずか1、2年で廃盤となり、後に世界中のモーターヘッド・マニアたちが血眼になって探すことになる超激レアな逸品なのである。中古盤市場でも滅多にお目にかかる機会はなく、帯付きの美品ともなれば数万円はするほど。アメリカを拠点とするレコード／CDの世界最大級データベースにして売買サイト「Discogs」にも、その存在すら記載されていない、まさに「幻」のレコードだ。

もうひとつは、オリジナルの英国盤LPを再現した紙ジャケット仕様で登場する、1978年の最初期のライヴを収めたアルバム『WHAT'S WORDSWORTH?』。1978年2月18日、元ドクター・フィールグッドのウィルコ・ジョンソンが、ロンドンの有名ライヴ会場「ラウンドハウス」にて企画した、英国のロマン派詩人ウィリアム・ワーズワースの原稿を保管する資金集めのイベントに参加したモーターヘッド。権利関係からモーターヘッドというバンド名は使えず、アイアン・フィスト・アンド・ザ・ホーズ・フロム・ヘル（IRON FIST AND THE HORDES FROM HELL）というバンド名で出演。当時モーターヘッドが所属していたChiswick Recordsの代表テッド・キャロルが、ザ・ローリング・ストーンズ所有の「The Rolling Stones Mobile Studio」（トレーラーに様々な録音機材を積み込んだ移動式スタジオ）をレンタルし、このライヴを録音。イベント開催から5年の月日を経て、Big Beat Recordsから83年にリリースされた作品である。過去、日本盤として発売されたことはなく、今回の日本初リリースにあたり、『切り裂きライヴ』という邦題がつけられた。

どちらの作品も、K2HDマスタリングを施し、HQCDに収録した完全限定生産盤となる。
