LEGO BIG MORL、バンド結成日に赤坂BLITZでツアーファイナル

3月28日に結成10周年を迎えたLEGO BIG MORLが、赤坂BLITZで全国ツアーのファイナル公演を行った。

オーディエンスの拍手に迎えられるように登場したカナタタケヒロ（Vo＆Gt）、タナカヒロキ（Gt）、ヤマモトシンタロウ（Ba）、アサカワヒロ（Dr）。4人そろって肩を組みおじぎをしたあと、彼らが一番最初に作った曲だという「dim」からライヴはスタートした。

自身のバイオグラフィを振り返るようなこの日のセットリスト。ソロ回しで歓声を集めた「所詮、僕は言葉を覚えたばかりの猿」、軽快なリズムで会場全体のジャンプを誘う「テキーラグッバイ」、雨音のSEも楽曲の雰囲気を引き立てた「雨のタクシー」など、それぞれの楽曲が今のレゴならではのサウンドにアップデートされている。

中盤では4人が上京したときに作られたという「東京リュックサック」も披露。さらにカナタのみがステージに残り、アコースティックギターの弾き語りで「Ray」「大きな木」を演奏した。普段よりも一際柔らかいその演奏にオーディエンスもじっくりと聴き入っているようだ。

ここで一転、白熱のセッションを経て「Wait?」へ。パワフルなドラムソロから「knock to me」に繋げると、会場一体となってのカウントから「正常な狂気」へ雪崩れ込む。タナカがマイクをフロアに向けると大きなシンガロングも起こり、会場の熱は増すばかりだ。そうして終盤に差し掛かると「順風満帆ではなかったし、心配と迷惑ばっかかけてきたバンドやと自分でも思ってるけど、ゆっくりでもこの4人で進んでこれたことが僕らにとっての小さな誇りです」と語り始めたタナカ。「今日赤坂BLITZに集まってくれたみんなやニコ生を見てくれてるみんなは、僕らにとっての大きな誇りです。誰一人失いたくないし、だからまた会いに来てよね？」——そんな言葉のあとに演奏されたのは、このツアーの会場限定シングル曲であり、ライヴを通してバンドとオーディエンスが大事に育んできた曲「end-end」。本編最後に演奏されたこの曲は、まるで互いの絆を確かめ合うように穏やかに鳴り渡ったのだった。

天気予報風のアナウンスを経て「RAINBOW」から始まったアンコール。虹色の照明とともに会場が幸福感に包まれたところで、さらにメンバーから嬉しい知らせが発表された。

6月22日にはベストアルバムの発売、7月1日に自主企画イベント『Thanks Giving』を開催、さらに有料ファンクラブ「LBA」会員限定イベントも開催することが次々と発表され、オーディエンスのテンションは最高潮に達した。

そして、この日のラストを飾ったのは、そのベストアルバムに収録予定の新曲。開放的なサウンドには、自らの不器用さも青臭さも抱えたまま前進を続けるバンドの意志が託されている。まるでここから始まるアニバーサリーイヤーの充実を約束するような、晴れ晴れとしたエンディングだった。

今回発表となった、初となるベストアルバムのタイトルは、今回のツアータイトルでもある 『Lovers, Birthday, Music』に決定！10歳のBirthdayにファンの皆さんをLoversと呼ばせてもらい、自分達のMusicを詰め込んだ作品ということで名付けられた。メンバー自身の選曲の他、新曲2曲と未発表音源も収録という豪華内容。

今後の情報は、10周年にちなんで毎月10日に発表される予定なので、今後のLEGO BIG MORLも要チェック！
