Waive、赤坂BLITZ含む東名阪公演・新曲「Days.」リリースを発表＆映像作品の完全受注販売も開始へ

Waiveの解散10周年を機に発表された特別公演『GIG「FINAL DISTORTION！」』が、4月3日にEX THEATER ROPPONGIにて開催された。

トラブルでもあったのだろうか。焦らされるように開演時間を大きく過ぎ、緊張感の高まるなか、いよいよ会場の照明が落とされると、解散公演や6年前の再演と同じSEが流れ、大歓声に迎えられてWaiveの4人が登場した。

この特別な日の1曲目に選ばれたのは「バニラ」。杉本の搔き鳴らすギターに田澤のボーカルが重なり、やがて全体が絡んでいく。その構成が憎らしいほどにWaiveというバンドの個性を伝える。その後も「FAKE」や「Lost in MUSIC.」など、アッパーなナンバーが続き、ファンもそれに呼応していく。

中盤で披露した「C.」では、田澤と杉本の深みを増したツインボーカルで聴かせ、この10年での成長を最も感じさせる一曲となった。

後半、Waiveにとってはお決まりの長いMCもパワーアップ（？）。『場内の雰囲気が硬いから、それをほぐさないといけない』という主旨で、失笑から爆笑まで口々に冗談を交えつつ、「ガーリッシュマインド」「Sad.」「ネガポジ」と攻撃的な楽曲で畳み掛け、名曲「いつか」で本編は幕を閉じた。
　
アンコールに応えて再びステージに現れたWaive。まず届けたのは『結成して一番最初にリリースした楽曲』と田澤が語った「spanner」。そして最後は「HEART.」が演奏され、この曲に綴られたエモーショナルな言葉の連続に場内は暖かい一体感に包まれた。
　
ステージからメンバーが去った後、スクリーンに『NEXT GIG』の文字が突如表示され、すでに発表済みである横浜BayHallと大阪AKASOでの公演を告知。さらに、少しの間を空け『追加公演決定！』と表示されたと同時に、会場は歓喜の声に包まれた。

彼らの出身地でもある大阪AKASOでの2days公演と、ファン待望の名古屋ボトムライン公演。そして最後に発表されたのは、いよいよ10周年の宴の終わりを銘打った赤坂BLITZ公演。さらにその後、会場にいた誰もが予想だにしていなかったであろう11年ぶりとなる新曲「Days.」のリリースが発表され、大歓声のなか『GIG「FINAL DISTORTION！」』は終了した。秋の5公演と新曲では、一体どんな手段で見る者を愉しませてくれるのか、期待は膨むばかりである。

なお、本公演の模様は、Blu-ray（通信販売限定、完全受注生産）としてオフィシャルサイトにて発売されることが決定した。こちらも合わせてチェックしてほしい。
