A9、ツアーファイナルにて12周年に向けて決意表明

4月16日の品川 ステラボールより始まったA9 TOUR 2016「TRUTH IN LIGHT AND DARKNESS」が5月29日のTSUTAYA O-EASTにてツアーファイナルを迎えた。

本ツアーは2部構成というバンド初の試みが実施されていた。1部では全編映像と音楽が融合されたステージとなっていたり定番曲もガラリとアレンジを変えるなど挑戦に満ち溢れた構成に。2部ではまさに静から動、内から外へ、といった感じで往年のアルバムからの曲を数多く披露したたかみかけるという本来のバンドの魅力を詰め込んだ構成となっていた。

4月リリースのEP『LIGHT AND DARKNESS』の楽曲と過去の楽曲が織り交ぜられたセットリストに違和感はなく、今年8月に12周年を迎える彼らのバンドとしての成長を垣間見ることができた。アンコールではメンバー全員によるツアーの総括となるようなMCが行なわれ、ライブ本編とは異なる素のA9の姿を見せた。その中で飛び出したメンバーからの「去年リスタートして、予想以上に不慣れなこと、困難なこととかありましたが、 なんとかここまで来れました。このステージ、この空間があるから戦えています。 俺たちはファンが1人になっても解散なんてしない。今日ここが終わりではない。ここが俺たちの新たな物語の始まりの場所だ！」という発言は、昨今増えている共に戦ってきたバンドたちの解散発表や解散ライブを目の当たりにしての彼らの偽れざる本音だったに違いない。

アンコールが終了した後の告知映像後もアンコールの声は鳴りやまず、その声がメンバーに届き、まさかのダブルアンコール！　「PRISMATIC」が再び演奏され、ステージ上のメンバーもフロアのファンにも笑顔があふれた。8月28日には新木場STUDIO COASTでの12周年記念ライブが発表されている。コンセプトは"2004-2005"ということで、当時まだ駆け出したばかりの彼らが産み出した楽曲を12年を経て今の彼らによってどのように表現されるか非常に楽しみである。
