BLIND HEADZが自身初の主催イベントにて、圧巻のバンドアンサンブルで観客を魅了

BLIND HEADZが自身初となる主催イベント『ノロシヲアゲロ Vol.1』を9月23日に下北沢GARDENにて開催した。

7月にリリースした14年ぶりのニューアルバム『LOVE YOURSELF』のインタールード「Lakshmi」をSEに、曲の持つオリエンタルな浮遊感がオーディエンスを別世界へといざなう中、横内"TAKE"健亨（G）、富岡"GRICO"義広（Dr）、KANAME（B）の3人がステージに現れると、一転して轟音が解き放たれた。続いて国岡真由美（Vo）が登場し、場内の暗闇を切り裂くかの如く鮮烈なギター・リフと共に、アルバムのタイトル・チューン「LOVE YOURSELF」でステージの幕が開け、空間は一気にBLIND HEADZの世界へと塗り替えられた。

曲終わりで国岡が一言、「ようこそ～！」と告げると、オープニングとは打って変わってミディアム・ナンバー「Grab the Earth」を披露。清爽さと力強さが同居したボーカルがまっすぐにオーディエンスへ注がれていく。MCをはさみ、記念すべき主催イベントの第一回目を迎えられたことに感謝を述べた後、1stアルバム『φ』より「DRAGON YEAR」では清々しく突き抜けていくストレートなサウンドが心地良くフロアを満たしていった。

次なる「回天」は第一期BLIND HEADZでは故・宮内和之（G/from ICE）がボーカルを務めたブルージーなナンバーで、その"男言葉"の歌詞や世界観が違和感なく実にサマになる国岡真由美の歌いっぷりや、タメの効いたリズムの中で繰り出される静と動のコントラストに耳を奪われる。そして、KANAMEがボーカルを取る「ブラック・コルベット」ではタイトで骨太なグルーヴがオーディエンスを巻き込んでいく。

緩急自在のBLIND HEADZ、MCが明けて次曲「Serenade」ではメロウかつメロディアス、ポップ寄りな側面も覗かせ、スローなロック・チューン「Little Joy」ではそれぞれの心に様々な情景や感情を喚起させるかのように、その世界観に聴き入るオーディエンスの姿が目に焼き付いた。

そして、KANAMEが「アルバムのコンセプトは無かったけど、出来上がったものを並べるとこの曲がコンセプトと言えるんじゃないかな」との前置きの後、GRICOがボーカルを取る「地球にカンパイ」を披露。より冴えわたるドラミングと共に力強いメッセージ・ソングを観客の胸に刻む。次に、本イベント・タイトルの由来でもある「狼煙」では、BLIND HEADZのハードボイルドな側面がひときわ際立ち、一朝一夕では醸し出せないブルージーなロック・フィーリングに唸らずにはいられない。
そして疾走感あふれる「FREE」と、間髪入れず突入する「EAR」がこのライブのハイライトと言えるだろう。めくるめくバンドアンサンブルを畳みかけ、ボルテージ高めのラウドなサウンドに国岡のクールかつ洗練のボーカルが融和し、BLIND HEADZのケミストリーが強く表れた瞬間だ。

ライブはいよいよ終盤に差し掛かり、「FICTION⇔INFECTION」では4人揃ってお決まりのフレーズで熱くなったフロアをさらに煽る。ついにラストの曲を迎え、冒頭でTAKEがカポを装着し忘れるアクシデントが発生するも、KANAMEがさりげなくベースでリードし見事な連携プレイを見せ「Astro Man」が放たれる。研ぎ澄まされたギターリフ、重めのビートにうねるグルーヴ、そしてスタイリッシュなボーカルが最後にとどめを刺すかのようにオーディエンスを魅了し、圧倒のプレイで幕を閉じた。

BLIND HEADZは今後も精力的にライブ活動を展開し、本イベントのVol.2が12月2日（金）下北沢GARDENにて、VooDoo Hawaiians、HELL HEAD（O.A）をゲストに迎えての開催もアナウンスされた。

また、発売当初はライブ会場限定での販売だった最新アルバム『LOVE YOURSELF』だが、このたびディスクユニオン店頭での取扱いおよびネット通販と、レーベル公式通販がスタートしている。
