【Silent Siren】ドンドン幅を広げたくて、演奏はあえて難しく！

　待望のメジャー2ndアルバム『31wonderland』をリリース。サイサイ史上もっとも幅広くカッコ良いアルバムについて、すぅ（Vo&Gu）が語ってくれた。

──アルバムのタイトルはどうして“31wonderland”に？

「リードトラックが「ぐるぐるワンダーランド」という曲で、それを軸に構成したので…数字の“31”はサイサイの数字読みで、「ぐるぐるワンダーランド」から“ワンダーランド”を取って“31wonderland”に。全体の仕上がりもジャケットデザインも自分たちの世界観を出せたので、“サイサイのワンダーランドにようこそ！”って感じで付けました。「ぐるぐるワンダーランド」はミュージックビデオも制作していて、不思議な映像になっているので、こちらもチェックしてほしいです。」

──これまでの作品と比較して、今回はどういう作品になったと思いますか？

「1stアルバムの時には出せなかった、オシャレな楽曲も収録できたし、とにかくいろいろなタイプの曲が散りばめられたなという印象です。真逆の意味の言葉をつなげたバンド名からも分かる通り、ロックな曲もポップな曲も両方あるのが私たちなんですが、そこに加えて夏の曲「ビーサン」、冬の曲「I×U」があって、さらにゆかるん作詞の「ぐるぐるワンダーランド」、あいにゃん作詞の「Are you Ready?」、ひなんちゅ作詞の「マイルストーン」と、メンバー各自の作詞曲もあって…。みんなの歌詞はちょっと読むだけで誰が書いたか分かるくらい個性が出てて、そのメンバーの歌詞を歌うのも、毎回の楽しみのひとつです。今回も自信作ですよ！」

──「アンチノミー」は激しく変わるドラマチックな展開で、サビのキャッチーさもすごく良かったです！

「これはsamfreeさんの作曲で、私的には懐かしい感じを思い出す曲ですね。歌詞は、実は好きだけど、好きって言えない気持ち、言っちゃったら壊れちゃいそうな…そういったもどかしい感情を表現しています。」

──ソリッドなロックナンバーの「Limited」もあるし。

「これは…人って誰かと一緒だと安心するってことあるじゃないですか。あの子と一緒だから大丈夫だって、多数派に寄ってしまうというか。この曲は、そんなことが多い中で、自分の個性をどんどん出して、自分自身を信じてほしい！という気持ちを伝えたくて制作しました。」

──楽曲の幅が広がったのは、演奏面でテクニックがグッと向上したこともひとつあるんじゃないかと思いますが。

「それはすごくあると思います。全パートあえて難しくしてドンドン幅を広げていこう、という意識が高いですからね。例えば「Are You Ready?」は、ソロパートがあるので挑戦でした。これはライヴでも絶対に披露するので、楽しみにしていてほしいですね。」

──そのライヴでの盛り上がりを意識した楽曲が多いというのも感じたのですが、そのあたりは？

「もちろん、ライヴを意識した作品です。一枚のアルバムで、ワンマンライヴを楽しむような感覚になってもらえるんじゃないかと思います。3月から全国15カ所を回る春ツアーがあって、これはサイサイにとって過去最大の規模になるし、このツアーで披露することを目標にアルバムを作ったという部分もあります。前回よりも断然パワーアップしたアルバムなので、とにかく早くリリースしたいし、たくさんの方に聴いてもらって、ライヴをやりたいですね。5月には初めて日比谷野音があるので、野音のステージでアルバムの新曲を披露するのもとっても楽しみです！」
