SANABAGUN.、ツアーファイナルにて対バン企画の東名阪公演開催を発表

SANABAGUN.最強伝説、見事なその第二章の幕開けだった。9月に脱退した小杉隼太から大きなバトンを受け継いだ新ベーシスト、大林亮三を迎えて臨んだ2017年を締めくくるツアー『SANABAGUN. TOUR – Suggestion -』の最終公演が、12月16日（土）に渋谷WWW Xにて開催された。本ツアーは11月23日の大阪Music Club JANUSからスタートし、ファイナルのWWW X 2DAYSを含む全5都市、6公演を行なった。思えば今年、流通作品のリリースがなかったSANABAGUN.であるが、彼らの歩みは実にタフだったし、その絶対に折れないマインドはこのツアーで披露したいくつかの新曲と、新生SANABAGUN.の息吹を注入した既発曲の体現によって証明してみせた。

メンバーによる『SANABAGUN.だ、味わえー！』の号砲を合図に鳴らされた1曲目から、いきなり新曲だった。タイトルは「Walking Dead」。古くからSANABAGUN.のライブに足を運んでいるオーディエンスは、この曲の前身バージョンを過去に聴いたことがあるかもしれない。絶妙な間合いを見極めたタイトなジャズサウンドに、静かな熱を帯びた岩間俊樹のラップと、背筋が凍るような冷たさを感じさせる高岩遼のつぶやきの掛け合い乗る。リリックからは残虐な情景が浮かぶのだが、しかし、どうしようもなくセクシャルな気分を煽られもする。これぞ、ただならぬ緊張感を発するSANABAGUN.のダークサイドの真骨頂である。その緊張感をキープしたままシームレスに2曲目「M・S」へと繋げるのだから、たまらない。それにしても、この曲における澤村一平のドラミングには毎度圧倒される。

一転して「板ガム―ブメント」と「まずは『墓』。」で音楽的な様相は無軌道なユーモアをはらんだ陽性のものになり、オーディエンスはそのカタルシスに心身を揺さぶられざるを得ない。ときにフルートも吹くサックスの谷本大河とトランペットの高橋紘一のホーンセクションが果たしている役割も大きい。緊張と緩和、恐怖と洒脱を自在に操る、陰陽和合な音楽像が提示するすごみとエンターテインメント性。前半の4曲で、SANABAGUN.の本質であり武器をまざまざと見せつけた格好である。サウンドプロダクションの面においても、バンドの真髄であるジャズマナーと黒光りファンクネスをベースに様々な音楽的な意匠を織り交ぜる巧みな腕と工夫を、楽曲を重ねるごとに見せつけていった。

ハーレーダビッドソンとのコラボレーション楽曲である5曲目「We in the street」では隅垣元佐のサンタナばりに咆哮するギターフレーズが牽引し、2発目の新曲「三種の神器」ではワウとファズを効かせた大林のベースが、ハードかつアッパーなグルーヴを際立たせていた。

あるいはジャズマンとしての矜持がプレイに込められていた櫻打泰平の長尺のピアノソロを経て始まった「Stuck IN Traffic」では、高岩のジャズボーカリストでありパフォーマーとしての比類なき存在感が光っていた。高岩と岩間が繰り広げるしりとりによって構成される「ハミガキ」と、高岩、岩間、隅垣が前線に立つ「3MCメドレー」も最高に楽しかった。本編ラストの「Yukichi Fukuzawa」と「人間」まで、ステージ上もフロアも熱量と集中力を微塵も切らすことなく一気に駆け抜けた。

アンコールがまた痛快極まりなかった。メンバー全員がMCとなってマイクリレーしていく「もう実家帰りなよ」のイントロが鳴りオーディエンスが歓喜の声をあげると、銃弾が打ち込まれるSEによって曲が変わり、新たなマイクリレー曲、その名も「8MC」に塗り替えられた。そのリリック内容は、ぜひ直接ライブで確かめてほしい。

最後の最後に披露されたのもまた新曲だった。タイトルは「FLASH！」。SANABAGUN.流にディスコファンク／ブギーを昇華したようなサウンドの上で歌謡性に富んだ高岩の歌と軽快でありながら説得力に満ちた岩間のラップが躍動する。真新しいポップネスと普遍的なクラシック感を同時に味わえる強力な1曲である。

終演後、会場の出口付近の壁には次なるアクションをアナウンスするフライヤーが張り巡らされていた。それは、3月に対バン企画『VS SANABAGUN.』の東名阪公演が開催されるということ。最強のまま生まれ変わったSANABAGUN.と対峙する相手は、今後明らかになる。

ツアーファイナルを迎えた12月16日21時より『VS SANABAGUN.』のチケット先行予約をSANABAGUN.オフィシャルHPにて開始している。
