リアクション ザ ブッタ、ミニアルバム『After drama』を携え次なるストーリーへと紡ぐ全国ツアーが開幕

リアクション ザ ブッタが2017年12月にリリースしたミニアルバム『After drama』を携えた全国ツアー『“After drama”Release Tour 2018～愛を吠える犬って、イタい？～』の初日を、2月17日（土）に彼らのホームである西川口Heartsで開催した。この日はラックライフとSaucy Dogという、ブッタと同じく“歌”に圧倒的な強さをもつ2バンドを迎え、この場所から全国へと旅立つブッタのツアーのはじまりを集まった仲間と共に祝福する一夜となった。

トップバッターとして登場したのは、いま注目の若手3人組ロックバンド・Saucy Dog。石原慎也（Vo＆Gu）が紡ぐ切なくも凛としたメロディーに、せと ゆいか（Dr）が優しく寄り添う。シンプルだが表情豊かなロックサウンドで聴き手の心を掴むと、“ブッタは先輩というよりお兄ちゃん的な存在です！”と、紅一点のせとが久しぶりの共演に声を弾ませた。次に登場したラックライフは、ブッタとは付き合いは古いが、ここ1～2年でお互いを知る機会が増えてきた間柄だという。“ツアー初日おめでとう！”と、笑顔を全開にしたPON（Vo＆Gu）の真っすぐなボーカルと、芳醇なバンドアンサンブルを武器にポップでロックな楽曲たちで魅了した彼らは、これからもライブハウスで生き続けるという決意を込めた新曲「僕ら」で締めくくり、リアクション ザ ブッタへとバトンを託した。

大阪発の2バンドがすっかり会場を温めたところで、佐々木直人（Vo＆Ba）、木田健太郎（Gu）、大野宏二朗（Dr）の3人がステージに現れた。“俺たちのホームへようこそ！　楽しむ準備はできていますか？”。佐々木の言葉で会場を煽りながら、『After drama』からの楽曲を中心にしてライブは進んでいった。スラップ奏法を交えながら早口で捲し立てる佐々木のベースボーカル、木田の手数の多い鮮やかなギターフレーズと、ブッタのロックバンドとしての勢いを加速させる大野の性急なドラム。3人の演奏が複雑に絡み合う変幻自在のバンドサウンドは、CD音源で聴く以上にアグレッシヴで高い熱量を持っていた。

この日のライブの中心になった『After drama』は、ひとつのストーリーを描いたコンセプチュアルなアルバムだ。喪失をテーマにした「ドラマのあとで」に始まり、自暴自棄になる「クローン」や「ヤミクモ」、新たな出会いを経て、その関係性を深めていく「behind」でクライマックスを迎える。そんなアルバムの世界観を大切にしたセットリストのなかに、ブッタのライブでは欠かすことのできない楽曲たちも織り交ぜられていた。ミラーボールが放つ無数の光が会場を埋め尽くした「Fantastic Chaos」や、圧倒的な昂揚感のなかで大きなシンガロングを巻き起こした「fall fall fall」。いくつものハイライトを経て、佐々木が“音楽が好きなあなたの居場所になれたら”と願いを込めたバラードナンバー「behind」でライブは終了。“良いツアーにするよ！”と言い残して、メンバーはステージを後にした。

アンコールではアップナンバー「仮面」で会場をひとつにして、ツアー初日を自らのホームグラウンドで大成功させたリアクション ザ ブッタ。ここから宮城、福岡、大阪、愛知を経て、ツアーファイナルは3月25日にバンド史上最大規模のキャパとなる代官山UNITでワンマン公演を行なう。その場所では、“『After drama』の次のストーリーを作りたい”と佐々木は意気込みを語っていた。およそ1カ月にわたり全国を駆け抜け、より進化した彼らがその場所で見せてくれる新しいストーリーがいまから楽しみでならない。
