未完成アリスの有栖川塁、ソロシングルを発売。これ、J-POPとして勝負したほうが話題になるんじゃねぇ?!

現在、47都道府県ツアーの真っ最中。未完成アリスのヴォーカリストとして活動中の有栖川塁が、このたび1stソロシングル『Last Letter』を6月5日に発売することになった。理由は、2月に行われた「Starwave総選挙」で総合1位を獲得したことから…という名目もあるが、有栖川塁のファンならご存じだろう。彼がツイキャスを通し、自宅のピアノを弾きながら歌を披露する姿を放送をしていたことを。
有栖川塁にしてみれば、ピアノを用いて楽曲を作ることも、弾き語りで歌を届けるのも、日常として当たり前にやっている表現の手段。普段は未完成アリスというバンドとして活動をしていることから、それを出す必要性がなかったと言ってしまえば、そうなる。でも、有栖川塁のツイキャスを観ている人たちの間では、「もっと歌を聞きたい」「音源として形に残して欲しい」という要望はあったこと。その想いに応える理由と、彼自身の中にも有栖川塁自身の本質を成す音楽性を形にして残したい気持ちがあったことから、今回のリリースへ結びついた。幾つもの偶然が重なってとはいえ、それも、必然を成すために生まれたことだったと想像してしまう。

このたび、『Last Letter』のMV SPOT(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLdQSmOjJWc)が公開になった。忌憚なき意見として述べさせていただくなら、この音楽性ならヴィジュアルシーンではなく、J-POPの世界で勝負したほうが、反響が大きいのでは?!という想い。
哀切さを抱いたピアノの旋律の上、愛しき人の幸せを願うように、有栖川塁は『Last Letter』を暖かな声を魅力に歌い紡いでゆく。なぜ、タイトルが『Last Letter』なのか。なぜ、主人公は最愛の人へ「最期の言葉」を送ったのか。その答えは、『Last Letter』のMV SPOTをご覧になっていただければおわかりになるだろう。
ヴィジュアル系らしいドラマ性を持ちながらも、ジャンルや世代を越えた人たちの心にも涙を導く珠玉のバラード作として『Last Letter』は完成している。あのエキセントリックで毒々しくもポップな表情を魅力にしている未完成アリスの本質には、こういう面も隠されていることも、この機会に知っていただけたら幸いだ。

有栖川塁は、1stシングル『Last Letter』の発売に先駆け、2日前となる6月3日(月)渋谷Malcolmを舞台に行われる「Dark Ambition Exposed Vol.103〜アコースティックスペシャル〜]と題したイベントライブへ出演、今回のシングル曲たちを披露してくれる。音源ではピアノ演奏を主軸にしていたが、ここではアコースティックギターの演奏に乗せて歌を届ける形になりそうだ。CD作品とはひと味違う魅力を体験出来るように、この機会にぜひ触れていただきたい。

47都道府県ツアーの合間を縫いながら、未完成アリスの有栖川塁が示した今回の一つの行動。未完成アリスとは対極?を成す音楽性が、今後どのように未完成アリスへ反映されるのか。それとも、反映されずにソロ作品として形を重ねてゆくのか。その先のことも楽しみになってきた。
