生きることから逃げないために、あの日僕らは逃げ出したが上演するライブ舞台劇『逆襲の花束』

「生きることから逃げないために、あの日僕らは逃げ出した」。まるで小説か演劇の中のセリフのような言葉じゃないか。これは、8人のむさ苦しい男たちから成る演劇集団の名前。巷では、略称して「生き逃げ」と呼ばれている。

「生き逃げ」が舞台を上演している場所は、主にライブハウス。作り上げているのは、体感型なライブ劇。それはミュージカル風であり、芝居劇でもあり、ライブのように参加型で楽しめる内容。それら三つの要素を兼ね備えてはいるが、三要素を重ね合わせたとなると微妙に表現のニュアンスは変わってゆく。
始まりこそシリアスな舞台劇として幕を開けるが、主軸となる物語へ次々と伏線となる要素(横道に逸れるとも言う)を投げ込みながら、「生き逃げ」は観客たちの興味や好奇心をどんどん膨らませてゆく。注目なのが、役者たちの高いテンション。感情を揺さぶるシチュエーションが多い理由もあるが、一度高ぶった気持ちを落とすことなくどころか、感情極まったままの状態へ、新たな感情を高ぶらせるドラマを次々と塗り重ねてゆく。
わかりやすく伝えるなら、「生き逃げ」の舞台は、つねにMAXの速度で走りながら観客たちの気持ちを揺さぶり続ける、緊張感とハイな気分が終わるまで途切れないジェットコースター劇。スリリングな展開が始まったとたん、ほぼ速度を緩めることなく。むしろ、どんどん速度を上げながら、観る者をグイグイ物語の中へ引き込んでゆく。
中でも凄いのが、終わることのないクライマックスシーンの連続という構成。「おっ、ここがクライマックスか」と熱い気持ちへ引っ張られるまま観始めたは良いが、高いテンションのまま、さらにいくつものドラマを描き重ねることで、演じる側も、観る側も、ズーッと心臓をバクバクさせ、手に汗握りながら暴走し続ける物語の中へ巻き込まれてゆく。中には、ライブパートを通し、一緒に騒ぐ場面もあるとはいえ。観終えたときには、モッシュし続けたライブを味わったようなハイな気持ちに心が満ちてゆく。別の言い方をするなら、ランニングハイな気持ちを抱き続けたままフルマラソンを完走したときと同じ、高揚と充実感を覚える。それが、「生き逃げ」の舞台劇の醍醐味だ。

「生き逃げ」は、5月に新宿Live Freakを舞台に第二回公演『逆襲の花束』をスタンディングスタイルで上演した。3日間全5公演とも好評だったことから、6月17日(月)-18日(火)の2日間に渡り、同公演の追加上演が決定した。場所は、同じく新宿Live Freak。背景にバンドも従えて行うように、体感型の演劇を味わううえでも、ライブハウスという環境は「生き逃げ」に関しては必須の条件。今回も、役者陣の感極まった感情をぶつけあいながら走り続ける物語へ夢中になり、同じく、止めどなく押し寄せる感極まる気持ちへ、興奮と高揚をだだ漏れし続けてゆく人たちが続出しそうだ。

生きる意味や理由を失い犯罪へ走り、牢獄へ閉じ込められた8人の囚人たち。未来という希望を閉ざされた環境の中、ますます生きる意味を見いだせず、8人は、過去のトラウマに苦しみ続けていた。いや、その中には、絶望の淵に置かれながらも未来を手にしようと企む一人の囚人がいた。幽閉された環境の中、それぞれに吐露してゆく過去。そのうえで、一人の囚人の強い意思へ導かれ、生きる意味を見いだそうと計画へ参加する囚人たち。やがて、とある事件をきっかけに「生きることから逃げないため」の計画が発動した…。
無事に、計画は成功。それぞれが「生きる意味」を改めて見いだそうとしたとき、ふたたび彼らに降りかかったとある災難。彼らは「生きる」ことが出来るのか。何を持って「生きる」と言うのか…。

「生きる」意味は、人それぞれだ。「生きる」理由を明確に持って日々を過ごしている人もいれば、「生きる」理由を探している人や、「生きる」ことを手放そうしている人たちも、いる。『逆襲の花束』という物語は、触れた人たちに、改めて「生きる」意味を考える機会を与えてゆく。
あなたはこの物語を観終えたとき、どんな自分の心の本音に気づくだろうか。「生きる」という言葉の意味を探している方はとくに、この物語へ触れて欲しい。その答えを導く、一つのヒントを与えてくれるはずだ。
