脳性まひと闘う奇跡のポップ・バイオリニスト式町水晶、2ndアルバムよりトレイラーを初公開

昨年4月、アルバム『孤独の戦士』でメジャー・デビューを果たした22歳のポップ・バイオリニスト、式町水晶が10月23日に早くも2ndアルバムをリリースすることが分かった。脳性まひという障がいに屈せず、人並みならぬ努力と研鑽を積みながらも、心に響くバイオリンと屈託のないキャラクターで人々を魅了し、ドキュメンタリー番組や情報番組、新聞など数多くのメディアに取り上げられて話題となった。
2ndアルバムはデビュー・アルバムのタイトル・トラック「孤独の戦士」のボーカル・バージョンを含む12トラックが収録され、オリジナル楽曲のほか「スペイン」や「ロッキーのテーマ」（！）などのカバー曲も収録。「孤独の戦士」は「ドラゴンボール」や「THE IDOLM@STER」、その他ポップスでも多数ヒット曲を生んでいる作詞家の森由里子氏が作詞を手がけ、歌手のShayleeによる透明感のある歌声で楽曲に新たな息吹が吹き込まれている。そして今作のタイトル・トラックとなる「希望への道」は、昨年式町が陸前高田に慰問演奏で訪れた際、奇跡の一本松を間近で見てインスピレーションを受け、その晩に書き上げた特別な1曲だ。アルバムではバンドとのセッションバージョンとTSUNAMIバイオリン（※）で奏でるソロバージョンの2バージョンを聴くことができる。そんなバラエティーに富んだ内容のアルバムのトレイラーが公開となった。

また、かねてから式町水晶のファンであった漫画家の斉藤 倫氏がオリジナルストーリーを描き、講談社「BE・LOVE」での連載中から注目を集めていた式町水晶をモデルにした漫画『水晶の響』が満を持してコミックス化、第①巻が発売となった。
更に、アルバム発売日にはLINE LIVEの配信も決定しており、ここでしか聴けないトークや生演奏が披露される予定だ。

※TSUNAMIバイオリン…東日本大震災で発生した津波の流木からつくられたヴァイオリン。楽器として生まれ変わることで、東北の故郷の記憶や想い出を音色として語り継ぎ、記憶に深く残したいという、弦楽器製作者・中澤宗幸氏によって製作された。式町水晶は、このTSUNAMIヴァイオリンの公式演奏者としても活動している。

【Profile】
式町水晶（しきまち・みずき/ Mizuki Shikimachi）

1996年北海道生まれ。
3歳の時に脳性麻痺（小脳低形成）と診断される。
リハビリの一環として 4歳からバイオリン教室に通い始める。
8歳の時に世界的バイオリン奏者 ”中澤きみ子氏” に師事。
音楽性の幅を広げるため、 10歳からポップスバイオリンを始め、
幅広いフィールドで活躍中のバイオリニスト ”中西俊博氏” に師事。
2018年4月キングレコードより「孤独の戦士」でメジャー・デビュー。
特にエレクトリックバイオリンによるエフェクターを駆使した独自のサウンドが評価されている。
現在も研鑚を積みながら、コンサート、ライブ、楽曲制作の他、講演活動にも精力的に取り組んでいる。
障がい者と健常者の垣根を越えて、地域社会や若者に夢・希望を少しでも贈りたいとの思いと、
被災地の皆さんへの支援をとの思いで、演奏と通し貢献活動を行っている。
