YOU(DEAD END) 30年超のキャリアで初となるアコースティックアルバム 「YOUCOUSTIC」3/18㈬発売決定

日本を代表するハード・ロックバンド”DEAD END”のギタリストで、2016年秋には東名阪3公演限定で緊急復活した伝説のヘヴィ・メタル・バンド“TERRA ROSA”のギタリストも務めたYOU(足立祐二)が、ニューアルバムを2020年3月18日（水）にリリースすることを発表、同時にジャケット写真も解禁となった。
『YOUCOUSTIC』（ユーコスティック）と題された今作は、自身のギタリストとしての30年以上のキャリアを通じて初となる、アコースティックアレンジが施された会心作。卓越したメロディセンスと、変幻自在のテクニックを駆使して演奏されるギターの音色は、DEAD ENDファンは勿論、全ギター・キッズ必聴の一作と言っても決して過言ではないだろう。
独自の音楽世界をより深化させていくYOUの活動に、今後も目が離せない。

“初のアコースティックアルバム”と謳っていますが、自分としては何年もやり続けてきた音楽のジャンルなので、違和感はないです。
アコギでサウンドを奏で、エレキでメロディを弾くという“エレキとアコギの融合”は、今までに無い音楽だと思います。少なくとも僕は聞いたことがありません。
今後こういったジャンルの音楽が広がっていけば、という思いを込めて、制作しました。

伝説のハード・ロック・バンド”DEAD END”のギタリスト。
87年、ビクター音楽産業から『GHOST OF ROMANCE』でデビュー。
89年、BMGビクターに移籍後、初のロンドン・レコーディングによる3rdアルバム、『ZERO』をリリースした後、活動を休止。
バンドの活動休止以降は積極的にソロ活動を行い、90年には1stソロ・アルバム『PSYCHICAL ISLAND』をリリース。
09年、20年振りにDEAD ENDとしての活動を再開し、実に20年振りとなるオリジナルアルバム『METAMORPHOSIS』を発売。
以降、現在に至るまでDEAD ENDの最新作『Dream Demon Analyzer』を含むスタジオアルバム5枚と、最新作『ANDROMEDIA』を含むソロ・アルバム4枚をリリースし、今年3月18日には、約1年半ぶりに自身五枚目となるソロ・アルバム「YOUCOUSTIC」を発売予定。
