Starwave Recordsの設立11周年記念イベント「Starwave Fest」の模様をレポート!! ～Eleventh・ラヴェーゼ編～

レーベルを設立して以来、ダークなヴィジュアル系バンドの作品を数多くリリースし続けてきた「Starwave Fest」。毎年2月に行なっているレーベル設立を記念した周年イベントも、今年で11回目。例年、数多くの所属バンドがイベントの舞台を賑わすが、今年はコロナ禍ということもあり、今のStarwave Recordsを代表する数組に絞ってイベントを構成。出演したのが、ラヴェーゼ・UNDER FALL JUSTICE・未完成アリス・XANVALA・Scarlet Valseの5組。オープニングアクトには、この日のために結成したスペシャルバンドも登場。有観客のみならず、配信ライブとして届けたこの日の模様を、ここに紹介したい。
　ここでは、オープニングを飾ったEleventhと、トップを担ったラヴェーゼのライブの模様をお伝えしよう。

Eleventh

Kakeru(Scarlet Valse)と有栖川塁(未完成アリス)のツインヴォーカルを中心に、ギターに凪斗(ラヴェーゼ)とYuhma(XANVALA)、ベースに70.(XANVALA)、ドラムにHakuyaを迎えて結成した、一夜限りのバンドEleventhが「Starwave Fest」のトップを飾って登場。

　有栖川塁とKakeruがハモるツインヴォーカルを魅力にEleventhが最初に届けたのが、Misarukaの名曲「Juliet」。胸を優しくくすぐる歌に気持ちがすっと引き寄せられる。躍動する楽曲に触発され身体が騒ぎながらも、ずっとハモり続ける2人のエモーショナルな歌声に、同じく心も騒ぎ続けていた。

騒ぐ気持ちに熱狂という衝動を加えようと、EleventhはFIXERのカバー曲「孤慟-into the vortex-」をぶつけてきた。重く激しい演奏が炸裂。フロア中からも拳が突き上がれば、激しく頭を振り乱す様もフロア中に広がりだした。攻めに徹した楽曲の上で、Kakeruがグロウルすれば、メロウな歌を有栖川塁とKakeruがハモり続ける。2人のヴォーカリストの阿吽の呼吸は、長年共にStarwave Recordsへ所属し、数多くのライブを共にしてきたからこそ。セッションバンドとはいえ、メンバー全員が歴代のStarwave Records所属バンドのメンバーや親交の深い関係。だからこそ、質の高い演奏を通し、観ている人たちの気持ちを熱く騒がせていった。最初から最後までクライマックスなライブだったのも嬉しいじゃない。

ラヴェーゼ

　イベントのトップを担ったのがラヴェーゼ。重厚な「-自罰-」の演奏へ導かれるようにヴォーカルの紗弥-saya-が舞台に姿を現し、マイクを手に絶叫すると同時に、楽曲は「Psycho」へ。呪詛のように言葉を呟き、叫ぶ紗弥-saya-。ラウドでサイコヒステリックなサウンドが観ている人たちの理性を狂わせる。サビではメロディアスな歌に触発され、大勢の人たちが心を酔わせていた。ド頭からラヴェーゼは、観客たちを自分たちの懐の中へ抱え込んでいった。
　後ろ手にしながら中指を立てて煽る紗弥-saya-。唸りを上げ疾走する「Loser」を武器に，ラヴェーゼは観客たちを刺激し続ける。歌心の強い楽曲なのも嬉しい。落ちサビで落とす表情も見せながら、つねに楽曲へ高ぶる高揚を与えてゆく。だから、彼らの歌声や演奏に強く惹かれてしまう。

　「レーベルの誕生日という愛でたい日を、最高に熱い日にしていきたいと思います。もっとその頭を狂わせてください。何時来るんだ?今でしょ!!一つになろう!!」。紗弥-saya-の煽りを受け、「Desperate destiny」が飛びだした。エッジ鋭くも歪みを上げた楽曲を魅力に、ラヴェーゼはフロア中の人たちをバネの壊れた人形に変え、その場で狂ったように騒がせていった。互いに感情と感情をぶつけあうことで生まれる熱した空気。それを感じたくて、限度人数いっぱいの人たちがこの会場に詰めかけていた。
「さぁ、いこうぜ!!」。ノイズのような荒れ狂う演奏が会場中を包み込む。カオスな空間の中、ラヴェーゼは「Vanissing to chaos」を武器に、観客たちの理性を壊してゆく。サビ歌がとても胸をくすぐるように、歌に惹かれながらも、身体は騒ぐ気持ちを抑えられない。
ラヴェーゼは、最後にラウド&コアなデジロックナンバー「Aube」を演奏。メロとデス、2つの表情を巧みに使い分けながら、美しさと混沌とした魅力を入り混ぜた独特の世界観を描きあげ、フロア中に熱狂を作り上げていった。
