People In The Box、ニューアルバム＆シングル2作同時リリース決定！

　People In The Boxが8月6日にニューアルバム『Wall, Window』とニューシングル「聖者たち」の2作品を同時発売することを、5月31日に東京・中野サンプラザホールにて開催したツアーファイナル公演で発表した。同シングルはTOKYO MXほかにて7月より放送開始するアニメ「東京喰種トーキョーグール」のエンディングテーマでもあり、自身初のアニメタイアップが決定したことも併せて発表された。

　4月4日より全国16カ所を回って来た全国ツアー“空から降ってくる vol.7 ?空想する春のマシン?"のファイナル公演として、5月31日に中野サンプラザホールでのワンマンライブを行なったPeople In The Box。

　静寂の中に鐘の音がこだまするとメンバーが登場。ライブスタートは「ストックホルム」。1曲目の曲間には会場が早くも一体化する拍手が巻き起こる。そして、ヴォーカルの波多野が「ツアーファイナルだ。」と今日までの充実したツアーの集大成になるスタートを改めて噛み締めるように声を上げる。その後も「時計回りの人々」「潜水」「はじまりの国」と新旧を織り交ぜた楽曲を披露。和やかなMCを挟んだ後は、ギターをかき鳴らす「市民」で会場の雰囲気を一変させ、アップテンポなナンバーで畳み掛けていく。

　ステージに天まで届くような“大きな木の幹"のようなセットが現れると、メンバーから新曲を披露するアナウンスが入り、ピアノの旋律が心地良い「もう大丈夫」、バンドのグルーヴ感を体感できる「さまよう」、ポップな歌詞が印象的な「おいでよ」と3曲をパフォーマンス。続けて、メンバー3人が醸し出す世界観を象徴するかのような「ブリキの夜明け」「マルタ」「気球」「八月」で観客を惹き込んでいき、会場全体がひとつの共同体に昇華したと錯覚してしまうような妖艶な雰囲気に包まれる。

　ここで、恒例となった山口（Dr）のグッズ紹介を兼ねたPOPなMCを挟み、ライブ終了に向け、「ニムロッド」「完璧な庭」「球体」「鍵盤のない、」と観客の胸をさすようなアグレッシブなナンバーでライブが加速していく。そして、「JFK空港」。“動から静へ"一気にPeople In The Boxワールドに再度惹き込んだところで本編が終了した。

　まだこの世界観に浸っていたいと、永遠に続くかと思わせる観客の大きな拍手の中、メンバーが再度ステージに現れると、波多野は、「今日は本当に楽しいです」、福井（Ba）も「このツアーを終わりにしたくない」、山口も「今日来てくれたことにとても感謝してます！」とそれぞれコメントし、メンバー紹介を行ない、アンコールに突入。EN1曲目は「ダンス、ダンス、ダンス」、そして「開拓地」「旧市街」と攻めの楽曲で観客を圧倒していき、ダブルアンコールとなった「ヨーロッパ」を披露し、アンコールも終了した。

　アンコール終了後も、観客からのトリプルアンコールが鳴り止まない中、突然、会場のモニターにニューアルバム＆ニューシングル発売とシングルのタイアップ決定を告げる映像が映し出される。普段は、ライブ終了後はPeople In The Boxの世界観にどっぷりと浸り、ライブの余韻に浸っているファンが多いが、突然の発表にこの日ばかりは会場のテンションが爆発し、大歓声が会場内にこだました。ライブ終了後、残響のように消えることがない衝撃が会場に残った。

　この夏、People In The Boxが更に飛翔する。今後の続報に注目しよう。
