LUNA SEA＆X JAPANのギタリスト・SUGIZOがセレクトするクラシックコンピが発売に！

LUNA SEA ＆ X JAPANのギタリスト兼ヴァイオリニストのSUGIZOがセレクトするクラシック・コンピレーションCDが9月24日にリリースとなった。

幼少期よりヴァイオリンやクラシック音楽の英才教育を受けて育ったギタリスト・SUGIZO。綿密に構築された唯一無二の作曲能力と、ヴァイオリンをバンドに取り入れて創出する独自の世界観と美意識は、国内外で圧倒的な存在感を放つ。両親がプロのオーケストラプレイヤーで幼少期からヴァイオリンを習っていたSUGIZOは、「G線上のアリア」やバルトークなど、好きな曲・作曲家に出会いクラシックを好きになったとインタビューで答えるほど。クラシック音楽は氏の音楽の"原点"とも言える。

そんなSUGIZOの音楽の原点でもある"クラシック"と向き合い、自身が影響を受け、愛して止まない曲を、主にオーケストラ編成の中から12曲を厳選。解説書には8000字にも及ぶインタビュー形式によるセルフライナーノーツを掲載（曲解説含む）。こだわり抜いた選曲だけでなく、曲順、マスタリング、曲間までSUGIZOのクラシックへの深い愛が凝縮された1枚だ。

SUGIZOのクラシックへの敬愛は、次のようなパフォーマンスによっても表現されている。2014年に25周年を迎えるLUNA SEA（以降 LS）でも「Providence」や「MOTHER」「UNTIL THE DAY I DIE」などヴァイオリンが要となる妖艶で荘厳な楽曲があり、LSにはなくてはならない楽器の1つ。また、再始動後のX JAPANではYOSHIKI氏のピアノに加え、ヴァイオリンが加わったことで、クラシカルな要素が増し、バンドの音世界が拡がりをみせるように、SUGIZOが奏でるヴァイオリンにより引き起こされる化学反応は、各バンドの世界をその一音でSUGIZOワールドに持っていく重要なパートを担っている。

特典ディスクには、本人監修の下、「記憶 Distant Memories」（SUGIZOが舞台音楽を担当した『7DOORS ～青ひげ公の城～』より、）の2004 MIXを収録。クラシックのエンジニアが新たに手掛けたMIXは、音の奥行き、弦の深さ、全体を包む響きがクラシカルに生まれ変わり、美しく深遠な世界が広がる。
