the GazettE、結成13周年記念日の2015年3月10日に武道館公演開催決定

2014年は1年間をファンクラブの為にすべてを注いできたthe GazettE。ファンが彼らに一番求める「ライヴ」を"再定義"をテーマとして、ファンクラブ会員限定ライヴハウスツアー『STANDING LIVE TOUR 14 HERESY LIMITED 再定義』を行い、そのツアーファイナルが12月3日に豊洲PITにて行われた。

今年1年間ライヴのみに没頭してきたthe GazettEは、SCENE01、SCENE02、SCENE03と計32公演の3本のツアーを行ってきたが、この公演が今年最後の公演となった。2014年ラストライヴは、真新しい会場である豊洲PIT。この日はSOLD OUTという事もあり、約3000人で埋め尽くされ、壊れんばかりの熱気と人の波に包まれた。

2012年リリースアルバム『TOXIC』と『DIVISION』の楽曲を"再定義"する内容となっており、セットリストはこの2つのアルバムで固められた。

「DIVISION」のSEから始まり、1曲目「DERANGEMENT」ですでに会場は一体となり、2曲目「GABRIEL ON THE GALLOWS」、3曲目「VENOMOUS SPIDER'S WEB」と、the GazettEのライヴらしい激しい楽曲が続き、オーディエンスは楽曲とメンバーに負けじと暴れ狂い、the GazettEのライブの真髄と化する。

12曲目「SLUDGY CULT」ではメンバー全員でシャウトし、会場中が再び一体となる。13曲目「TOMORROW NEVER DIES」を聴くオーディエンスの表情は様々で、終止ジャンプをしている人、笑顔で聞き入る人、中には涙を流す人もいた。ツアーに対するオーディエンスの気持ち、思い入れを強く感じることができ、the GazettEのライヴがバンドだけではなくファンと共に作り上げているということを強く象徴している景色となった。

その後に14曲目「ATTITUDE」15曲目「PSYCHOPATH」と続き、バンドの定番曲でもある「関東土下座組合」で本編は幕を閉じた。

「死にものぐるいで作ってきたアルバムを改めて見直すことで、また新たな良さを引き出せたらと思って回った今年の3 本のツアーです。1曲1曲、再度バンドが突き詰めていくと同時に、みんなの顔も1年前と比べて変わっていったように見えました。みんなと成長できた1年になりました。このツアーは本当に大切なものになったなと」アンコールでそう語ったボーカルのRUKI。

来年には13周年を迎える彼らだが、まだまだ止まることなく成長を続けている。

今年1年、ファンと共に過去の楽曲を"再定義"し、自分たちを見直す期間となったわけだが、終演後には、来年2015年3月10日、バンド結成13周年記念日に日本武道館公演を実施することがサプライズ映像で告知された。

[13-T H I R T E E N-]という不吉な数字を象徴とするティザー映像は、ホラー映画の1シーンのようで、あえて[13-T H I R T E E N-]という不吉な数字をタイトルに付けるあたりがthe GazettEらしい。

2015年は、果たして彼らにとってどんな13周年になるのだろうか？ 先日公開となった「FILM BUGIII」のジャケット画像もぜひチェックして頂きたい。
