GLAY、全国9カ所17公演に渡るアリーナツアーが大盛況のうちに閉幕

9箇所17公演に渡り行なわれ約20万人を総動員した「GLAY ARENA TOUR 2014-2015　Miracle Music Hunt」が宮城セキスイハイムスーパーアリーナにて千秋楽を迎えた。

今回のツアーはド派手なセット、360度の客席（一部の会場を除く）、ROCK色の強いセットリストで構成され、各会場大盛況。ツアーファイナルは2月21日（土）・22日（日）の2DAYSで、2014年夏に行なわれた「GLAY EXPO 2014 TOHOKU 20th Anniversary」の開催地であるひとめぼれスタジアム宮城に隣接した宮城セキスイハイムスーパーアリーナにて開催された。

ファイナル宮城公演のみ、「GLAY EXPO 2014 TOHOKU 20th Anniversary」でも共演した和太鼓アンサンブルユニット「閃雷」とスペシャルコラボレーション。GLAY EXPOと同様に「HIGHCOMMUNICATIONS」を披露し、東北史上最多動員を記録した「GLAY EXPO 2014 TOHOKU 20th Anniversary」を彷彿させるパフォーマンスで観客を魅了した。また千秋楽という事も有り、福島県浜通りの復興プロジェクト「ふくしま浜街道桜プロジェクト」のために書き下ろされた『さくらびと』をライブ 初披露。アンコールの最後にメンバー4人のみで演奏され、宮城公演のみで披露された特別なセットリストとなった。ライブ中、TERUは「GLAYは解散しないバンドとして、この先10年、20年と続けて行きたいと思います。20年後もこの場所で必ずライ ブをすると誓います」と集まった宮城のファンへ約束をすると、アンコール最後の曲『MUSIC LIFE』の演奏中に、「お前ら絶対諦めんなよ！」とエールを送りライブは無事幕を閉じた。

そんなGLAYが昨年11月5日にリリースした13枚目のオリジナルアルバム『MUSIC LIFE』が、発売以降ロングセールスを記録中。遂には日本レコード協会からゴールドディスクに認定された。『MUSIC LIFE』は亀田誠治をプロデューサーに迎え、20年の進化を続けるバンドサウンドを凝縮した名盤。ジャケットイラストをクラウス・フォアマンが手掛ける 等、アートワークも話題を集め、豪華2CD盤はファン投票によって選ばれた「つづれ織り～so far and yet so close～」「BELOVED」「HOWEVER」「ずっと2人で…」などの人気楽曲に加えて、新曲「さくらびと」も収録した「BALLADE BEST☆MELODIES」付きとなっているので、まだ聴いていない方は是非チェックしてみてほしい。
