サザンオールスターズ、いよいよ10年振りの全国ツアーが開幕

サザンオールスターズが4月11日、愛媛県武道館より全国ツアー「おいしい葡萄の旅」をスタートさせた。

サザンオールスターズは先日3月31日に約10年振りとなるオリジナルアルバム『葡萄』を発表。初週30万枚を売り上げ、その後も大ヒット中の同作を引っ提げ、全国ツアー「おいしい葡萄の旅」が行われる。そして、その初日の愛媛県武道館はサザンオールスターズとってライブを開催するのは初めてという会場であり、愛媛県でのライブ自体も約10年振りだ。

“季節は巡り、「希望の苗」（サザン復活のシングルで、『葡萄』にも収録されている「ピースとハイライト」の歌詞に出てくる言葉）から『葡萄』へ、たわわに実ったその一粒一粒を共に味わう旅　さあ出掛けましょう”という字幕とともに、豊かな実がなった葡萄の樹の映像とともに、サザンのメンバーがステージに現れると、会場に詰めかけた5000人のファンからは割れんばかりの歓声が沸き起こった。

10年振りのライブツアーはボリューム満点！　「C調言葉に御用心」「エロティカ・セブン（EROTICA SEVEN）」といった往年のヒット曲から『葡萄』収録曲まで、新旧にわたり全36曲を披露した。

中心となっているのはもちろん新作『葡萄』収録曲。「イヤな事だらけの世の中で」では京都風情溢れる映像が、「アロエ」のイントロでは動画サイト風の映像が現れるなど、変幻自在な楽曲のテーマに合わせ、演出も多種多様。「アロエ」ではMVの振付で観客も全員が踊り出すなど、「大衆音楽の粋」が凝縮したアルバム『葡萄』のライブに相応しい、一大エンタテインメントが繰り広げられた。

また、原 由子がメインボーカルをとる「ワイングラスに消えた恋」について、『葡萄』のセルフライナーノーツで桑田佳祐は「（原由子が）今回はもしライブで演奏するのなら、是非ともハンドマイクで歌ってもらうぐらいの、ちょっと大仕掛けのレビューみたいな世界観の曲を提供してみようと考えた」と語っていたが、その通りこの曲では原由子がステージ中央に立ちダンサーを従えて歌い上げた。歌謡ショーさながらのそのパフォーマンスに観客は大いに盛り上がった。

久々に訪れた松山の地で、地元に対する温かい気持ちも随所に表現された。「東京VICTORY」の締めの一言である“TOKYO,The world is one!!"を“MATSUYAMA The world in one!!"と桑田が歌うと、客席からは大きな拍手が起きた。また、アンコールでも、「嗚呼松山また来るね!!」という一節が飛び出し、会場は感動の渦に巻き込まれたのだった。

無事にスタートした、サザンの全国ツアー「おいしい葡萄の旅」は、先頃発表になった追加公演も含め、全11ヶ所23公演。合計で50万人以上を動員する予定。この愛媛武道館を皮切りに、8月17日（月）・18日（火）の日本武道館まで続く。
