サザンオールスターズ、10年ぶりの全国ツアーが日本武道館で大団円！ まさかのビートルズも!!

4月11日（土）＆12日（日）の愛媛県武道館を皮切りに始まった、サザンオールスターズの全国ライヴツアー「おいしい葡萄の旅」。4ヵ月にわたるこのツアーが、追加公演となる8月17日（月）＆18日（火）の日本武道館公演で大団円を迎えた。

今回のツアーはニューアルバム『葡萄』に相応しく、愛媛県“武道"館から始まり、この日本“武道"館で締めくくることに。5大ドームも含めた全11ヵ所23公演のこの大規模ツアーは、計50万人にも及ぶ動員を記録。2005年に行なわれた「SOUTHERN ALL STARS Live Tour 2005みんなが好きです！」以来の全国ツアーだったが、10年ぶりにして最高の動員を塗り替えるツアーとなった。

さらに、サザンの日本武道館公演は1992年から1993年にかけて行なわれた全国ツアー「歌う日本シリーズ」の最終日以来、実に22年ぶり！ 超プレミア公演のチケットを幸運にも入手できたファンは、開演前からテンションマックスだ。“皆様、本日はようこそお越しくださいました 季節は巡り愛媛県武道館からここ日本武道館へ 大きく育った『葡萄』をみんなで喜び味わう旅 さあ、いよいよ収穫祭のはじまりです”という字幕がステージ上に映し出され、メンバーがステージに登場すると、武道館全体を大きく揺らすかのような大歓声が沸き起こった。

全国各地を大いに盛り上げてきた今回のツアー、武道館も同様にボリューム満点。往年のヒット曲から『葡萄』収録曲まで、新旧にわたるサザンの名曲、ヒット曲を36曲が披露され、公演時間は3時間半以上にも及んだ。ライヴの中心となったのは、もちろん『葡萄』の収録曲。CMソングとしてもおなじみのロマンティックなポップチューン「はっぴいえんど」や、すでに名バラードとの呼び声が高い「平和の鐘が鳴る」では、曲中で自然にさざ波のような温かい拍手が生まれた。また、原由子がメインヴォーカルをとる「ワイングラスに消えた恋」では、原が普段のキーボードの位置から離れ、ステージ中央に立ち、ダンサーを従えて歌謡ショーさながらに歌い上げる。

終盤になると、会場の盛り上がりはレッドゾーン振り切れ状態！ 「東京VICTORY」では会場全体がひとつになって拳を振り上げ、「アロエ」ではステージに登場するアロエをあしらった衣装をまとったダンサーたちとともに客席全体がダンスフロアーと化す。さらに、「マチルダBABY」「エロティカ・セブン（EROTICA SEVEN）」「ボディ・スペシャルII（BODY SPECIAL）」「マンピーのG★スポット」という怒涛の流れに12,000人が狂喜乱舞した。

中盤のMCで桑田佳祐は、“武道館といえば、49年前にかのビートルズが来日してライブを行った場所です”と、自らが最も敬愛するビートルズについて言及。その後、ビートルズにちなんでメンバー紹介が行なわれた。桑田が当時ビートルズ公演の司会をしたE.H.エリックを真似て“それでは、日本で初めて迎えるビートルズでございます。どうぞ皆様の盛大な拍手でもって迎えたいと思います。Ladies and gentlemen, welcome The Beatles.”と切り出すと、ドラムの松田弘が“リンゴ・スターです”、ベースの関口和之が“ポール・マッカートニーです”、そしてキーボードの原が“ジョン・レノンの恋人、小野妹子です（笑）”、さらにパーカッションの野沢秀行が“ジョン・レノンです”と、それぞれ小ネタを交えながら自己紹介。ミュージシャンシップがあふれながらも、ユーモアたっぷりで会場は爆笑の渦に包まれた。そして、メンバー紹介が終わると、桑田の“曲、やっちゃおっか”発言に続き、なんとバンド全員で「HELP!」を完コピで演奏！ まさかのサプライズとリスペクトに満ちたバンド全員のミュージシャンシップに、会場全体から温かい拍手があふれた。
