EX-ANS、病んでるバンギャたちへ告ぐ・２!!ポジパン系/ヴィジュアル系…その異端の系譜と配合しながら、EX-ANSの伝説は一夜限りの幕を開ける。

その歯車は確かに重なり合い、美しく廻り出していた。

だが……。一度凹凸(おうとつ)を大きく違った歯車どうしは、たとえ一瞬に噛み合おうと、互いに新たな潤滑油を差そうとも、円滑に廻り続けるのは難しいことだった。

すでに耳にしている方も多いだろうか!?

10月10日・高円寺HIGHを舞台に行う「ACTUALITYOF DARKNESS」と題したワンマンライブを通し、24年ぶりに最強のメンバーで「一夜限りの復活」を遂げるはずだったEX-ANS。
いや、その表現は多少誤解を招きそうだ。EX-ANSが「一夜限りの復活ライブ」を行うのは、間違いない。
ただ、本来ならヴォーカリストとして舞台に立つはずだったRAYが、復活準備の最中、脱退という結果へ陥ってしまった。EX-ANS解散後の24年間の歩みの中、他の3人とは凹凸の異なる歯形や回転先を違えたもう一つの歯車は、同じ方向を向いて廻り続けてゆくのは、まだ難しいことだった。
その報告が流れたとき、ネット上には数多くの「残念」という言葉と同時に、「だったら観ない」という言葉も記されていた。その気持ちも、確かにわかる。でも大切なのは、24年間という沈黙を破り、長く活動を封印(停止)していたEX-ANSという存在の歯車が廻り始めたという事実。

今の音楽シーンに影響を及ぼした一つの存在が、たとえ「一夜限り」だろうと姿を現し、幻影を現実として知らしめてゆく。その姿を目の当たりに出来る場を得れた事が嬉しいことじゃないか。
伝説は伝説として、そっと記憶の箱の中へ閉まっておきたい人は、それで構わない。でも、その扉が一夜でも開くのなら、足を踏み入れたくなるのが人としての性。好奇心ほど、人のワクワクとした心情を掻き立てるものはない。

先の悲しい報せに続く、EX-ANSから新しい情報が届けられた。
それが、「"一夜限りの復活の宴"に様々なヴォーカリストたちが足を運び、EX-ANSの楽曲をそれぞれが彩ってゆく」という嬉しい言葉だった。

その歌い手として告げられたのが、DADA(VELVETEDEN)/Genet(AUTO-MOD)/Gilly(Phaidia)/kozi(ziz)/Zin-Francois Angelique(MADAMEEDWARDA)/石井秀仁(GOATBED,cali≠gari)/想(emmuree, …。【サイレンス】(silence))という豪華な面々。
そのラインナップを目にし思い浮かべたのが、「80年代和製ポジティブパンクシーン」を彩った面々の参加と、「ヴィジュアルシーンに多大な影響を与えた存在」との共演であり、それぞれがEX-ANSの音楽性に何かしらの影響や刺激を与え、分かち合ってきた人たちということだ。

EX-ANS自体が、80年代に全盛期を誇った和製ポジティブパンクシーンの流れを系統しながらも、その枠から逸脱して存在。同時に、現在のヴィジュアル系の中にある「耽美なスタイル」の礎を築きながらも、みずからはヴィジュアル系という存在にはまることを良しとしなかった。
つまりEX-ANSは、つねに様々なシーンの中、異端で有り続けた孤高の存在であった。だからこそ、ポジティブパンクシーンから、そしてヴィジュアル界からも「異端かつ独創的であるがゆえに崇め」られていたわけだ。

参加ヴォーカリスト陣の誰もが、癖が強く、頽廃の花を咲かせ続けている異形な存在。その彼らが、同じく異形な美しい毒とも言えようEX-ANSと交わったとき、EX-ANSの持つ妖艶耽美/暗鬱浪漫な世界へ、どんな色を持った毒を塗り重ね、どれだけ独創的な楽曲として昇華してゆくのか、とても楽しみじゃないか。

伝説の復活劇を是が非でも目撃したいが、残念ながら、その人数は限られている。迷うなら、ぜひ手を伸ばすべきとお伝えしよう。中でも、心の闇へ寄り添うことへ痛い安堵感を覚える人たちには、ぜひ見ていただきたい。
ヴィジュアル系が好きと公言する人たちに、あなた方が熱狂する「耽美」な音楽の始まり(の一つ)を体験して欲しい。そのうえで、いろんな未来を語っていただけたら幸いだ。
