LOUDNESSの高崎晃が日本人初として「BURRN!」の表紙に決定

LOUDNESSの中心人物であり、ギタリストである高崎晃が、ヘヴィ・メタル専門誌「BURRN!」の2016年1月号（2015年12月4日発売）にて、日本人アーティストとして初めて表紙を飾ることが決定した。

「BURRN!」誌は、1984年9月、音楽雑誌「ミュージック・ライフ」の別冊として創刊。以来、31年間の長きにわたり、日本を代表するヘヴィ・メタル専門誌としてシーンに高い影響力を誇ってきたが、創刊以来、日本人アーティストが表紙を飾ることは一度もなかった。

なお、記事では『THUNDER IN THE EAST』リリース30周年を記念した大特集として、当時のシーンを国内外にわたり熟知する増田勇一氏によるLOUDNESSメンバー（高崎晃、二井原実、山下昌良）個別独占インタビューが予定されている。

1981年のデビュー以来、35年近く世界に大きな影響を与え続けている高崎晃率いるLOUDNESSと、1984年に創刊、世界でも有数の影響力と発行部数を誇るBURRN!誌による初の本格的タッグが、30年の歴史を越えて初めて実現するというファンタスティックな夢の実現。11月25日に発売される『THUNDER IN THE EAST 30th Anniversary Edition』を入手して、楽しみに待とう。

また、『THUNDER IN THE EAST 30th Anniversary Edition』の発売週末の11月27日（金）、この作品の発売を記念したスペシャル・イベントが東京・渋谷TSUTAYA O-EASTにて行なわれることも決定した。このイベントでは、司会進行を増田勇一氏が担当し、高崎晃、二井原実、山下昌良のメンバーを迎え、作品に収録された秘蔵映像、収録されなかった未公開映像、終了したばかりのアメリカツアー時の初公開映像などをファンと一緒に観て楽しむという内容が予定されている。また、『THUNDER IN THE EAST 30th Anniversary Edition』購入者（Limited Edition,Ultimate Edition共通）には、イベント終了後にメンバーからのプレゼントも用意されているという。詳しい入場方法などは、「THUNDER IN THE EAST」30周年記念特設サイトにて、近日中に発表されるとのことなので、チェックしておこう。

BURRN！初の「日本人の表紙」は高崎晃、というアイディアは、実はずっと温めていた。世界で最も知られている日本のヘヴィ・メタル・バンドがLOUDNESSであることは紛れもない事実であり、高崎晃は日本が世界に誇るギター・ヒーローだ。実績も実力も知名度も、彼がBURRN!の表紙に相応しいミュージシャンであることは言うまでもない。あとはタイミングだ。今回、「THUNDER IN THE EAST」30周年でアメリカでもツアーを行なった「今」がまさに「絶好のタイミング」だと判断した。僕自身とてもエキサイトしている。
