【Prague】未知の恍惚を約束する最新シングル

　絶妙なグルーブとメロディーを響かせる「脱走のシーズン」。オリジナリティーあふれるサウンドが、リスナーの身も心も鮮やかに揺らす！　今作について3人が語る。

──まずは「脱走のシーズン」の制作なのですが、どんな感じでスタートしたのですか？

鈴木「もともとは金野の溜めていたネタ集の中のフレーズと空気感から始まった曲で、それ自体にすごくストーリーを感じたんですよ。だから、変に手を加えないで、その世界観を大事にしながら作っていきました。」

伊東「金野が持ってきた段階で、“これはかたちにしたいな”って思ったんです。何とも言えず心地良いループだったので。でも、かたちにするのは結構時間がかかりましたね。いろいろ試した結果、サビの広がり感とか伸びに、すごく光るものがある曲になったと思います。満足度が高いですね。」

金野「本イントロに入った時に出てくるギターフレーズが、曲のいろいろな部分にも使われているんですけど、あれがふと浮かんだ瞬間があって。あれをやりたいがために曲にしたようなところがあります。」

──あのギターフレーズの多用が、この曲のポイントですね。ハウスとかテクノにも通じるループ感がある曲ですし。

金野「同じフレーズでも、聴かせ方がいろいろあるんですよね。他にどんな音やフレーズがくるかによって、聴こえ方は全然変わるから。そういうことをじっくり追求したのが、この曲です。」

──歌メロも独特です。すごく印象に残りますよ。

鈴木「最初に付けたメロディーがピンとこなくて、頭を切り替えたんです。不思議というか、自分の知らない側面を見たような気もするメロディーになりましたね。」

──こういうサウンドをシンセとかではなくて、この編成でやっているが面白いですよ。

金野「こういうのを3人でやるのもアリだと、前から思っていましたから。」

伊東「“3人なの？”って驚かれることがよくあるけど（笑）。」

鈴木「でも、そういうところに自分らの個性や強みがあると思うし、フォーカスを当てて活動をしているので、もっとそこが伝わるといいですね。」

──シンプルだけど、最大限のドラマ性を生み出すバンドでもありますよね。

鈴木「この曲は、まさにそうですね。“3人で一緒になってこの曲の物語を話している”みたいな感覚があるんですよ。とことん余分な部分を削ぎ落として辿り着いた“これでいこう！”っていう強い覚悟が出ていると思います。」

──ところで、来年の3月にアルバムをリリースするらしいですね。聞くところによると、ライヴハウスでお客さんを入れて録るみたいじゃないですか。

鈴木「ライヴ録音ならではの潔さとか、今までのPragueの作品とはまた別の部分を出せればいいなと思っています。」

──いわゆる“ライヴ盤”といったものではなくて、お客さんがいるライヴの現場で録った“オリジナルアルバム”という感じなのでしょうか？

鈴木「そうです。そこが重要です（笑）。」

──お客さんは緊張しそうですが（笑）。

金野「やっぱ、緊張しますかね？（笑）」

鈴木「ウチらが緊張しなければ大丈夫でしょう（笑）。緊張して録るといい音にならないですからね。」

伊東「変に意識したりしないで、自然な感じでやれたらいいなと思っています。」
