ラルク、新曲が映画『バイオハザード：ザ・ファイナル』の日本語吹替版主題歌に

L'Arc-en-Cielが12月23日に日本で世界最速公開される、究極のアクション大作シリーズ第6弾にして最終作『バイオハザード：ザ・ファイナル』の日本語吹替版主題歌を手がけることがわかった。

日本発の大人気ゲームから生まれ、ミラジョヴォヴィッチ演じる美しきヒロインアリスと、世界をアンデッド化した元凶である宿敵アンブレラ社との最後の戦いを シリーズ最大のスケールで描く同作。かつてアンブレラ社の特殊部隊員だったが、アンブレラ社に実験台として利用され、 その人生を翻弄されながらも両手に銃を携え戦い続けてきたヒロイン・アリス。今回抜擢された新曲新曲「Don't be Afraid」は、彼女が歩んできたこれまでの姿にぴったりな楽曲になっている。

今回、映画「バイオハザード：ザ・ファイナル」とコラボレーションできて、すごく嬉しいです。
L'Arc-en-Cielのメンバーもゾンビ大好きですから。「バイオハザード」ですごく象徴的な瞬間というのは、中に絶対アイツらがいるってわかっているの にドアを開けないと進めないという、その展開。その展開と、人生って、どこか通じる部分があると思うんです。「どうしてもこれやらないと前に進まな いんだよな…」っていうその気持ちを自分と照らし合わせて。勇気を振り絞って恐怖に打ち勝つっていう部分をイメージして歌詞を書きました。 あと、「Don't be Afraid」は発音的に、流暢に言ってみると「ゾンビーアフレイド」に近いなと。「ゾンビ怖い！」みたいな。ちょっとダジャレ入って ます（笑）。 僕らのファンも映画を観に行くかもしれないし、そこで初めて聴く人もいるかもしれないですけど、そこで何か、お互いの相乗効果があるといいと思いま すね。L'Arc-en-Cielのファンは「バイオハザード」を好きになって、「バイオハザード」のファンはL'Arc-en-Cielを好きになって、ということが少しでも起これば嬉しいです。

映画「バイオハザード：ザ・ファイナル」とご一緒できてとても嬉しいです。今回の映画はついに最終作ということで、「バイオハザード」の映画の 映像のイメージを頭の中に描きつつ、僕なりの解釈で、あんまりザクザクしたギターで激し目のものでいくよりも、クリーンなアルペジオでちょっと 悲しい感じのほうがいいかなと思って作りました。悲しみとか、怒りとか、無念な気持ちとか、僕の中でもテーマになりました。生きながらにして ゾンビのような気持ちになる。ゾンビの気持ち、わかるんですよ、僕。ゾンビじゃないですけど（笑）。
L'Arc-en-Cielも結成25年目ではあるんですけど、僕にできることは待ってくれている人に喜んでもらえるような楽曲をつくること。それが僕の使命な ので、自分なりに頑張って、すごくいいものができたな、と思っています。久しぶりの新曲ですが、気に入ってもらえると嬉しいです。
