ユニコーン、幸福な空気で満たされたツアーセミファイナル

ユニコーンが9月3日の府中の森芸術劇場どりーむホールを皮切りに、3ヵ月以上・追加公演含め全34本にわたって行なわれてきた『ユニコーンツアー2016 「第三パラダイス」』が、12月9日（金）の東京国際フォーラムホールAの公演でセミファイナルを迎えた。

カープ優勝の日以降追加された、赤の揃いのツナギ姿のメンバーが、吹くと四方八方に伸びる“吹き戻し"を頭部に装着して登場、1曲目「サンバdeトゥナイト」の間奏にさしかかると一斉に吹きながら演奏、というこのツアー恒例の幕開けでスタート。1曲目と同じくニューアルバム『ゅ 13-14』収録曲の「すばやくなりたい」、そして『Z』から「頼みたいぜ」、とたたみかけ、最初のMCへ。「あともう少しですよ。よかったよ。ひとりも欠けることなくね……まあ、今日途中で誰か減るかもしれないけど（笑）。身体と相談しながらギリでがんばります」と奥田民生、ここまで無事にツアーを続けてくることができた喜びを口にし、超満員のオーディエンスは笑いと拍手で応えた。

次の「与える男」と、本編ラスト前の「大迷惑」の2曲以外はすべて2009年の再始動以降の曲で、このツアーのセットリストは組まれている。アンコールを含めると『ゅ 13-14』収録曲はほぼすべて披露されていく。5曲目「オーレオーレパラダイス」から「CRY」までは、手島いさむ→川西幸一→EBI→EBIと、各メンバーがメインボーカルをとるゾーン。手島はハンドマイクでオーディエンスをあおり、川西はドラムを奥田に任せて「僕等の旅路」の曲調のモチーフである某アーティストのコスプレで歌い、EBIはベースをギターに持ち替えて静謐でディープな2曲を続けて聴かせる。なお、手島の「オーレオーレパラダイス」が終わったところで、今日のこのライブはスカパー！の生中継が入っており、全国に放映されていることが告げられた。

ABEDONの「第三京浜」に続いて「ハイになってハイハイ」を歌った奥田民生、歌い終わって「この曲、あと3年くらいしかできないと思う」とひとこと。歌いながらエフェクターを踏むために片足立ちしている時間が7秒くらいあるんだけどそれがつらい、できなくなると思う──との説明に、客席に笑いが広がる。奥田の「ではそろそろユニコーンの曲を」という紹介から（この紹介を気に入ったようで以降何度かくり返される。最初は「じゃあこれまでの曲は!?」などとリアクションしていたメンバーもだんだんつっこまなくなっていった）、アルバムから先行してカセットテープオンリーでリリースされた「エコー」（TBS系ドラマ『重版出来！』主題歌）で、“じっくり聴かせる時間"のハイライトを作ったあとは、「BLACKTIGER」「TEPPAN KING」「Boys & Girls」とアッパーなライブ・アンセムを連打。曲頭で特効の銀テープが発射された「Boys & Girls」では、左右に振られるチェッカーフラッグで客席が埋め尽くされる。奥田民生がハンドマイクで歌い、手島＆EBIもフロントに出てくる「大迷惑」でステージの上も下も沸点を迎え、続く「風と太陽」で心地よくかつ感動的に本編がしめくくられた。

アンコールの1曲目で、「よーし、今日もまかせとけ！」というEBIの宣言から、EBI＆川西のツインボーカルで「マッシュルームキッシュ」を聴かせたあとは、このツアー恒例であり、ツアーの最初からこの日までの間で幾多の変化を遂げ、それと同時にどんどん尺が長くなっていった「WAO!」の途中でABEDONを中心に繰り広げられるメンバー紹介のコーナーへ。

ABEDONの「この方、ダンスが得意なんです」という振りに応え、奥田が出すバック・トラックに合わせて手島→EBI→川西の順でダンスと芸を披露していくこのコーナーは、ツアーが進むにつれてそれぞれの出し物がどんどん変化していき、中盤でABEDONがマイケル・ジャクソン風のダンス・ショーを取り入れたあたりから尺が決定的に長くなり、その後もどんどん伸びて現在に至っている。この日も約30分にわたる「芸の出し合い」で、客席を爆笑と失笑の渦に叩き込んだ。毎回ダンスでなくモノマネを強制される奥田は、セミファイナルだからか「松山千春」「大友康平」「もんたよしのり」「矢沢永吉」「松田聖子」「武田鉄矢」の6人続けてABEDONにむちゃぶりされ、懸命に応えていく。

コーナー後半ではABEDONが、ツアーのスタートに間に合わず、後半にさしかかったあたりでようやく完成したグッズ「おどるたいやきくんのタタキ」（人気グッズ「ふるえるもん宝」を「TEPPAN KING」にちなんでたいやき型にしたもの。赤く光って振動する）を取り出す。それに続いて赤い光を放つ震えるタイが客席のあちこちで掲げられ、ABEDONの指示で、その「ガガガガガ」という振動音と共にオーディエンスの歌う「WAO！!」のサビが響き渡る──という、笑えばいいのかあきれればいいのか感動すればいいのかさっぱりわからない、まさにユニコーンしかやらないしやれないしやろうともしないであろう、なんとも言えない光景が広がった。二度目のアンコールは「Feel So Moon」。軽快かつスケールの大きなこの曲で、国際フォーラムが幸福な空気で満たされ、2時間40分のステージが終了した。

このツアーは12月17日（土）・18日（日）の沖縄コンベンション劇場でファイナルを迎える。その後ユニコーンは、幕張メッセ国際展示場で行なわれる年末フェス『COUNTDOWN JAPAN 16/17』への出演で、2016年の活動をしめくくる。
