TAKURO（GLAY）、箭内道彦と初のソロアルバムを語る

TAKURO（GLAY）が初のソロアルバム『Journey without a map』発売日の前日となる12月13日（火）、Gibson Brands Showroom TOKYOでゲストに箭内道彦を迎えたアルバム発売記念アナログ盤試聴＆トークイベントを開催した。

当日は約3,000名以上から当選した50名が参加する、超高倍率のプレミアムイベントとなった。イベント前半はGibson Brands Showroom TOKYOが誇る高性能アナログプレイヤーとスピーカーから流れる『Journey without a map』を聴き、TAKUROが一音一音こだわり抜いて制作した楽曲を堪能。

そして、試聴会が終わると、TAKUROと箭内道彦が登場した。トークはまずアルバム全体の話となり、箭内は“人柄にあふれていて、そこにおぼれそうになる。TAKURO以外の何者でもない”と絶賛すると、TAKUROは“マスタリングが上がってから、リリースするのをやめようかなって思ったんですよ。そのままの自分がここにいるってなって恥ずかしくなって。ちょっとカッコいいコード使って、カッコいいって思われたい自分がいるって”と、初のソロアルバムリリースへの率直な想いを話した。

また、作品については“どうしても表現したい欲求に忠実であろうって思った。ジャジーだったりブルージーだったりするのはその結果。メロディだけ取り出せばなじみがあるメロディだと思うんです”と、『Journey without a map』で自身のギターを追求することができたと話した。

TAKURO自身が“自分そのものがこのアルバムには出ている”と感じる今作のタイトル『Journey without a map』に関しては、“GLAYはそんなに立派な地図は持っていなかったけど、それぞれ知恵を出し合って旅をしてきた。その結果本当に良い景色を見る事が出来た”と語り、“地図の無い人生”を過ごしてきたこと、いつ何が起こるかわからない日々、それであれば1日1日を大切に生きていくことを、この“地図無き音の旅”と題したアルバムでは伝えたいという。

箭内も“地図がない事で出会える楽しみってありますよね”と続け、今を大切に生きて行くことを二人は噛み締めていた。

最後に初ソロアルバムの発売を前日に控えたTAKUROは、“ここがスタート地点だと思っています。収録されている曲を大事に繰り返し弾くことで、10年経ったときの自分の成長、20年経ったときの成長を確認できればなと思ってます”と述べた。

兼ねてよりTAKUROは“一息つきたい時にお酒でも飲みながら聴いていただけると嬉しいです”と語る『Journey without a map』。TAKUROがこだわり抜いた極上の音、そしてアルバムに込めた“今を大事にする気持ち”を、お酒と一緒に堪能してみては？

なお、この模様は12月14日（水）27:20～27:50にフジテレビで放送。順次オンエアされていく予定だ。
