“車椅子のボーカリスト”奥野敦士擁するROGUE、バリアフリーの拡充を目指すイベント今年も開催

奥野敦士率いるROGUEがホストバンドを務めるライヴイベント『GBGB“G-Beat Gig Box”』が、6月24日にヤマダグリーンドーム前橋にて開催された。

“GBGB”は、奥野の不慮の事故を受け、彼の地元でもある群馬県の有志達が設立したLLP信誠会を中心に、福祉の充実、バリアフリーの拡充を目的に群馬で実施される音楽イベント。開催趣旨に賛同するアーティストやボランティアスタッフにより開催されるイベントも今年で5回を迎え、今回も収益については例年通り、一部経費を除き福祉車両の購入などに充てられる事になっており、今年も、このイベントを楽しみ集まる、会場を埋め尽くしたファンを前にステージは開演した。

オープニングアクトLOOP CHILDの演奏の後、トップバッターを務めたのはRespect up-beat。80年代ROGUEとともにバンドシーンを牽引したUP-BEATのボーカル広石武彦がUP-BEATの歌を再びファンと共有するためにスタートしたバンドである。広石はステージに上がると開口一番「ハロー群馬！」と会場にコールし、「DEAR VEANUS」でライヴはスタート。MCでは「ロックの聖地群馬にやっと来れたよ！」と喜びをオーディエンスに伝え、代表曲「KISS IN THE MOON LIGHT」など数々のビートロックを披露し会場を沸かせる。

2番手はGBGB初回から参戦のFLYING KIDS。「♂+♀（ボーイミーツガール）」からグルーヴィーでダンサブルなステージを展開していく。MCで浜崎は「毎回出ているけどこれは何かの癒着かー！」と会場を笑わせ、ホーム感たっぷりの和やかムードの中、"幸せであるように"、"風の吹きぬける場所へ"などヒットチューンを繰り広げた。

3番手は今回紅一点のCharaが登場。ゆったりとしたレゲエ調のナンバー「Junior Sweet」でライヴはスタート。ハスキーでパワフルな歌声はオーディエンスを魅了し「デビューして25年経つんですけど……恋をした時に作った曲をやります」と「あたしなんで抱きしめたいんだろう？」を披露。新曲の「Sympathy」などで会場をコケティッシュなChara色に染め上げていく。その後のYEN TOWN BANDの「Swallowtail Butterfly～あいのうた～」をしっとりと歌い上げ、ラストナンバー「やさしい気持ち」では変わらないキュートな笑顔は健在。

続いて登場したのは藤井フミヤ、藤井尚之兄弟によるF-BLOOD。ゆったりとしたセッションからアッパーな「ROCK BAR」でスタート。フミヤが「俺たちおっさんバンドなんですけど……こんな感じでやります」と挨拶し、スタンダードな大人のロックナンバーで会場を踊らせる。そして「懐かしいと感じるか新しいと感じるかはあなた次第です」と初期チェッカーズを思わせる「孤独のブラックダイヤモンド」からのチェッカーズの代表曲の一つでもある「NANA」で会場を大いに盛り上げた。

そしてイベント最後のトリを務めるのはROGUE。「世界で一番愛しているキミのために歌を歌おう」というストレートに愛を伝えるフレーズから始まる「LIKE A MOON」でライブは始まり、新旧のアッパーな曲でフロアを煽っていく。MCで奥野は「まだ決まってないけど、ロック好きだし、ROGUE好きだし、GBGB好きだし、みんなも好きだし、これからも続けたいと思う」と将来の約束を口にし「みんながハッピーだと俺も幸せだよ」と伝え、印象的な歌詞が心に響く「酔いどれ天使」で本編を締めくくった。

アンコールはメンバーを紹介した後「MY HONEY」で再び会場を踊らせ、奥野が「最後に一緒に歌おう」と「終わりのない歌」で会場は一体となり大団円でステージは幕を下ろした。

冷めやらぬ熱気の中、幸せに満ちた笑顔で会場をあとにする車椅子の男性に話を聞いた。「GBGBがなかったら、今の私はなかったかもしれません」そう語った男性は、DET（障害平等研修）ファシリテーターを務める高橋宣隆さん。2013年の第1回目からGBGBに訪れているという高橋さんは、建設業の経験と障害を負った体験を活かし、“ふくしらぼ"というバリアフリー住宅の会社も経営している。「私が事故によって障害を負い、社会復帰なんて考えることさえ出来ないほど心が後ろ向きだった頃、私より50倍、、、いや100倍は重いであろう障害を負った奥野さんは、いわば仕事復帰されたんです。私は第1回目のGBGBの帰路に今の会社を起業することを決めたんです」。GBGBの開催趣旨である“真のバリアフリーの拡充"が、確かな形となって歩き始めていることを感じた。

「ありがとうございました！」そう言って会場をあとにした高橋さんの笑顔が、5回目の節目となるGBGBの成功を物語っているように思えた。
