ROGUE、『DESOLATION ANGELS』レコ発記念ライブにてイベント『GBGB』の開催を発表！

ROGUEが、アルバム『DESOLATION ANGELS』のリリース日である10月19日、地元群馬のベイシア文化ホール（群馬県民会館）にてレコ発記念ライブを開催した。

今回のライブはサブタイトルとして『ROGUE with 奥野敦士vs KNiFe』と銘打たれ、奥野敦士のソロで幕を開けた。続いて奥野敦士以外のメンバーである香川誠・西山史晃・深澤靖明らのKNiFeのステージ、そしてROGUEのパフォーマンスへとつながるという、バンドの歴史を辿るかのような構成だった。

奥野敦士ソロ、KNiFeに続いて登場したROGUEのステージは、今作『DESOLATION ANGELS』のオープニングチューンでもある「GET THE GLORY」でスタート。MCでは奥野の『なんで平日にライブやるの？ 動員とか大変でしょう』という問いに、香川が『今日は（再結成となった2013年の）GBGBをやった日だから』と語り、会場を沸かす。

中盤6曲目には、これまたニューアルバムに収録の「気分はどうですか？」を披露。実にシンプルなロックンロールナンバーだが、実はそれぞれの活動、そして経験を経たからこそ表現できたとメンバーが語った楽曲だ。まさに今回の構成を象徴するような一曲だった。

そして本編最後に演奏されたのは「酔いどれ天使」。今回のアルバム制作にあたり、耳にしたスタッフが全員心を打たれたというこの曲は、数あるデモテープのなかから最初に収録することが決まったナンバー。不慮の事故を乗り越えて歌い続ける奥野敦士を体現するかのような同曲で本編は締めくくられた。

鳴り止まぬアンコールに応えて再び登場したROGUEは、「LIKE A MOON」を演奏。そしてラストには、先日の『GBGB 2016』でMr.Childrenの桜井和寿と共演した代表曲「終わりのない歌」を歌い上げ、全11曲プラスアンコール2曲のステージを終了した。

また、この日はメンバーからイベント『GBGB』が2017年に開催されることが発表された。誰を招くかはまだ考え中とのことだが、奥野の『みんな来てくれよな』の声にファンは熱い声援で応えていた。
