ROGUE、再結成後初となる東京ライブへのメンバーコメントが到着

活動を再開し、昨年12月3日（水）にニューアルバム『REAL AGAIN』をリリースしたROGUE。1月31日（土）にEXシアター六本にて開催される再結成後初となる東京ライブ『AGAIN ～ TOKYO SPECIAL NIGHT ～』にむけ、ベースの西山史晃からコメントが届いた。

ROGUEは1982年に結成。1990年の解散後、Voの奥野敦士は俳優としても活動していたが、2008年に不慮の事故により脊髄を損傷し半身不随に…。その後、懸命のリハビリをする彼のもとにメンバーが集まり、ROGUEは2003年10月に群馬・グリーンドーム前橋で開催された「GBGB2013」で約23年ぶりの再結成を果たした。 そして、昨年の12月に約25年ぶりのオリジナルアルバム『REAL AGAIN』をリリース！　『AGAIN ～ TOKYO SPECIAL NIGHT ～』は、同アルバムのリリースライブである。

たしか今から6年くらい前、一度ROGUE再結成の話しが持ち上がって。というのも、リーダーでありバンドのスポークスマンでもあったギターの香川から電話があってね、「１回だけROGUEやんない？」と。
俺としては、その何年か前から再結成のタイミングを計ってたんだけど、「香川を無理やり引っ張り出しても面倒くさい事しかない」とわかってたんで(笑)。それが一番再結成に無関心だった本人からの声掛けで再結成が進むのなら、これはきっと良い方向に動くな、と思って、ひとつ返事でOKしました。とても嬉しかったしね。
じゃあ、いつやる？昔、世話になってたスタッフに相談して、来年の春に大きめのとこで、なんて話が決まりかけた矢先に奥野が屋上から落ちて大変なことになっているって連絡がきて。
その時に、もちろん、奥野の安否を一番に心配したけど、と同時に「ああ、ROGUEの再結成はもう無いんだなあ」と深く落ち込んだ自分がいたよね。
俺としては、ライブ１回なんて言わず、新譜の一枚も作ろうよ！って感じでかなり前向きだったし、仮に１回キリの復活でも、ROGUEはライブパフォーマンスで売ってきたバンドなんで、それはそれで本望だ、と思ってたんだよね。
それが、奥野の事故と共に水泡と化してしまった…
一番辛いのは、奥野本人だってことは俺自身もよくわかってたから、友人のミュージシャンやスタッフの力も借りて、色々奥野にエールを送ったんだよね。ドラムの竜さんにも協力してもらって「奥野トリビュートLIVE」ってのを、ライブ全曲が奥野のカバー曲でやって、それこそ奥野のことを全然知らない後輩のヴォーカルにも力を貸してもらったり。身体は自由がきかなくっても、おまえが作った曲たちは独り歩きして皆んなを楽しませてるぞ！って、感じてほしかった。そのライブ映像を、「いま映像やってます！」っていう元ROGUEファンクラブに入ってた方に無償で撮影してもらって、そこに出てくれたミュージシャンと見に来てくれたファンの人たちにも出口で奥野にメッセージをもらったり…
その他にも、ミスチルの桜井くんが奥野の作ったROGUEの「終わりのない歌」をap bankフェスで歌ってくれたなんてニュースも含めて、数え切れないくらいのあたたかい想いとご協力をもらって、遂に2015年のROGUE東京復活LIVEにまで漕ぎ着けることができました。奥野が頑張ってリハビリして、なんとか歌えるようになるなんて夢のようです。
ライブ当日はいろんな仲間が六本木に駆けつけてくれることになりました。
レピッシュのマグミは、大学のサークルが隣り同士で、お互いがデビューする前からの30年来の友人だし、パーソンズは当時から対バンすることが多くて、何せ知る人ぞ知る「東北ロックサーキット」仲間、そしてoccupyとして参加してくださる池畑さんや井上さんは、僕ら4人の憧れのバンドだった「ルースターズ」の最高のリズム隊で、今回参加して貰えて、身の引き締まる思いと喜びでいっぱいです。
何せ25年ぶりのROGUE東京凱旋。
とにかく目撃して欲しいんだよね、１発目を。
よろしくね、もう１回始めるぜ！
