YOSHIKIドラム復活！ 命懸けのドラミングで全観客が熱狂のXジャンプ!!

4月10日（火）11日（水）の2日間にわたり、Zepp DiverCityにて行なわれた『復活10周年記念 X JAPAN LIVE 2018 アメリカフェス出演直前PREMIUM GIGS 〜YOSHIKI 復活の夜〜』が最終日を迎え、ドラマーのYOSHIKI、そしてX JAPANの“完全復活”に相応しい圧巻のパフォーマンスで有終の美を飾った。

YOSHIKIの首の状態はまだ万全ではないものの、命懸けで自身の限界にチャレンジしようとする姿に、約2,500人の観客は熱狂。「JADE」「RUSTY NAIL」「I.V」「紅」など、2017年の日本ツアーでは見ることが叶わなかったドラマー・YOSHIKIのパフォーマンスは、やはり圧倒的な存在感。会場の熱気がピークに達した「X」では、観客全員がYOSHIKIの復活を祝った大合唱と“歓喜のXジャンプ”で場内を揺らし、約2時間15分にわたる公演で見事“X JAPAN復活の瞬間”を見せた。

また、この日特別ゲストとしてX JAPANのコーチェラ前哨戦に華を添えた、ガンズ・アンド・ローゼズのリチャード・フォータスと、リンプ・ビズキットのウェス・ボーランド、そしてMUCCのミヤたち豪華ギタリスト3名の共演も大いに観客たちを魅了した。都内ライブハウスでの単独公演は2008年の赤坂BLITZ以来、実に10年ぶりで、東京ドームの約1/20という限られたキャパでの特別な空間となったこの“復活の夜”に立ち会えた人はほんの一握り。だが、WOWOWでの放送視聴者、そして日本全国の映画館、香港、台湾、韓国の劇場にて開催された生中継ライブビューイングの観客を含めると、東京ドーム以上の盛り上がりがあったのではないだろうか。

そして、本番開始たった数時間前にSUGIZOのビザ申請が間に合ったという朗報が飛び込んできたことが公演中に発表され、半ば諦めかけていたX JAPANメンバー揃ってのコーチェラ上陸が叶うという“奇跡”が起こったのである。X JAPANは休む間もなくこの後米国へと旅立ち、X JAPAN“メンバー7人”で、遂にあの『コーチェラ・フェスティバル』のステージに降り立つ。世界的アーティストである、Beyoncé（ビヨンセ）、The Weeknd（ザ・ウィークエンド）、Eminem（エミネム）らと肩を並べて、全世界からの注目を集める大舞台に挑むのだ。

X JAPANは、「MOJAVE STAGE（モハーヴェ・ステージ）」で、ビヨンセと同時刻にヘッドライナーとして登場することが決定しており、米グラミー賞のオフィシャルウェブサイトで発表された、“今年のコーチェラ・フェスティバルで最も期待されるパフォーマンス”に、ビヨンセ、ザ・ウィークエンドと並んで3アーティストの中の1組として選出されているほど、世界中からの注目を集めている。そんな中、重くのしかかるプレッシャーに打ち勝ち、日本のロックバンドとしてどのようにこのコーチェラの舞台を切り開いていくのだろうか。吹き荒れるX JAPAN旋風に期待したい。
