X JAPAN、『コーチェラ・フェス』の「MOJAVE STAGE」でヘッドライナーとして出演決定

世界で最も権威のある音楽賞として知られる米グラミー賞のオフィシャルウェブサイト「grammy.com」は、“2018年のコーチェラ・フェスティバルで最も期待されるパフォーマンス”に、 Beyonce（ビヨンセ）、 The Weeknd（ザ・ウィークエンド）と並んでX JAPANを、3アーティストの中の1組として発表した。また、 ヘッドライナーを含む232ある出演アーティストの中で、 現在最も注目度の高いアーティストの一つとなっているX JAPANは、なんとBeyonceと並び同時間帯23:10にヘッドライナーとして「MOJAVE STAGE（モハーヴェ・ステージ）」でパフォーマンスすることが決定した。

世界の音楽シーンはヒップホップ全盛の傾向があるが、そんな中ビヨンセやザウィークエンドなどに交じってこのフェスにX JAPANが出演することは、X JAPANが世界中で画期的成功を収めている証拠である。X JAPANが出演する「MOJAVE STAGE」は1万人をはるかに超える会場で、過去にペットショップボーイズや、アンダーワールド、ジェームス・ブラント、リリーアレンなど、世界的有名アーティストがパフォーマンスを披露しており、今回その場所でヘッドライナーという大役を任されたX JAPANに重くのしかかるステージ成功へのプレッシャーは計り知れない。

X JAPANは、HIDE、TAIJIと共に7人のメンバーで『コーチェラ』のステージに向かう。ショーでは、HIDEとTAIJIのダブルホログラムが予定されており、さらにバンドのステージを盛り上げるゲストとして、ガンズ・アンド・ローゼズのリチャード・フォータスと、リンプ・ビズキットのウェス・ボーランドも共演する。YOSHIKIはこのステージでいよいよ完全復活を果たすこととなる。
