indigo la End、中野サンプラザ公演が大盛況＆新アルバムが7月リリース

4月13日、indigo la Endがワンマンライヴ『蒼き花束vol.2』を中野サンプラザにて開催した。『蒼き花束』は川谷絵音の27歳の誕生日を祝った2015年12月3日の東京国際フォーラムホールA以来、約2年半ぶり。3Dプロジェクションマッピングなどを使った様々な映像演出が盛り込まれ、この日限りの特別な一夜となった。

ステージ前方に紗幕がかかる中、1曲目に始まったのはインディーズ時代の楽曲である「she」。紗幕越しにメンバーが見える中、2つの光が重なったりすれ違ったりする様が、ストーリー性を感じさせる。紗幕が上がると、ステージには長方形のスクリーンが8つ、立体的に配置されていて、「冬夜のマジック」ではカラフルかつサイケデリックな映像が投射される。「ココロネ」「ダンスが続けば」とファンキーな楽曲が続き、「夏夜のマジック」で再び紗幕が下りると、花火が打ち上がり、スクリーンをにぎやかに彩った。

野外をメンバーがひたすら歩く意味深なムービーに続いて、「心雨」からは歌をじっくりと聴かせるパートに。「幸せが溢れたら」では後方のスクリーンに天へと上って行く無数の光の粒が浮かび上がり、美しい光景を作り上げる。「鐘泣く命」では、長方形のスクリーンが鏡となり、各メンバーが映し出される中で演奏が行われた。

再び野外を歩くメンバーのムービーが流れ、ここからはアッパーな曲を連発。自然と手拍子が起こった「瞳に映らない」では幾何学模様、「悲しくなる前に」では燃え盛る炎と崩れる壁といったエキセントリックな映像が映し出され、定位置で演奏していたメンバーがステージ前方へと出て行く「夜明けの街でサヨナラを」は、この日一番の盛り上がりとなった。

ここまでMCらしいMCはなかったが、川谷がオーディエンスへの感謝を伝えると、想いの丈を語り始める。前回の中野サンプラザのライヴで佐藤栄太郎が正式メンバーとなり、3年経って、サポートを含めた6人で再び同じステージに立てたことの喜び。その後いろんなことがあって、2016年に活動を休止したときはバンドをやめようかとも思ったけど、長田カーティスから電話が来て、「君の曲が好きだから、一緒にやりたい」と言われたこと。そのときに、音楽で繋がってるメンバーであるindigo la Endをこれからも続けたいと思ったこと。話を聞きながら、涙を流すオーディエンスも少なくなかった。 そして、「すごくひさびさにやる曲です。昔は孤独を正当化して、いろんな人を傷つけて、〈一人で生きて行くから大丈夫〉という曲を作ったけど、今はいろんな人に支えられてるし、メンバーにも感謝してます。この曲をこれ以降歌うことはないと思うので、最後に歌わせてください」と話して、「素晴らしい世界」を披露。ラストではメンバーが1人1人ステージを去る中、川谷が1人残り、アカペラで、泣きそうな声で、＜大丈夫そうだ＞というフレーズを歌い上げた。

アンコールに応えて、メンバーが再び登場すると、この日が初披露となる新曲「ハルの言う通り」を演奏。各楽器がせめぎあうというよりも、全体で重心の低いアンサンブルを奏でるのが新鮮で、サビのファルセットとリズミカルな節回しも非常に印象的。また、MVと思われる映像が流され、曲間で挿入されたメンバーの歩く姿が、MV撮影のアウトテイクであることが判明した。

プログレッシブな展開に合わせて変化する映像が印象的だった「大停電の夜に」を終えると、再び川谷が「indigo la Endをやっててよかったなって、新曲をやってるとき思いました。曲の方向性ポンポン変わるし、天の邪鬼だから＜こういうの作ってください＞って言われても作らないけど、次のアルバムはホントにいいと思います」と語り、最後に「インディゴラブストーリー」を演奏。記憶に残る一夜が締め括られた。

また、この日のライヴにて初披露した新曲「ハルの言う通り」が4月14日より配信開始されることも発表された。あわせて甫木元空監督によるMVも公開されているのでぜひチェックしてみよう。

そして、最新作となるメジャー4thアルバム『PULSATE』が7月18日にリリースされることも決定。初回限定盤のDVDにはこの日のライヴ映像が収録されるとのこと。
