Blue Vintage が自身初となる E.P「IVORY」を発売！

5月4日（祝・金）にBlue Vintageが、渋谷VUENOSで行なわれたイベント“VUENOS chillin”に出演した。 イベントの“トリ”として、3人のサポート・メンバーと共にJ.SpeaksとTaigaの2人が登場し、ゴスペル・テイストのミディアム・チューン「春風」からライブはスタートした。彼らのステージが始まるやいなや、人々がフロアに駆けつけ、たちまち超満員だ。J.Speaks のソウルフルなボーカルとエネルギッシュなパフォーマンスが、みんなをグイグイと引き込んでいく。そして2曲目はレゲエ・テイストの「Good Morning Tokyo」。フロアのオーディエンスも、ゆったりと横に揺れている。この2曲で彼らはしっかりとオーディエンスのハ ートをつかみ、Blue Vintageの世界に引き込んでいく。 続く「Get It On」は、スカのリズムとオリエンタルなムードが合体したユニークなナンバーで、さらに雰囲気が高まっていき、オーディエンスから“カッコいい!”という歓声もあがる。この曲で全メンバーのソロもフィーチャーされたが、こういったところからも、彼らがライブでのパフォーマンスを大切にしているのが伝わってくる。特にTaigaのギターは、確かなテクニックと歌心に溢れ、Blue Vintageというユニットの大きな魅力になっている。決してハデではないが、ボーカルをしっかりとサポートし、歌がちゃんと活きるギター・プレイからは、彼のセンスの良さが感じられる。そしてこのJ.SpeaksとTaigaのコンビネーションの良さは、バラード「Empty Room」で見事に発揮されていた。Taigaの歌心溢 れるギターをバックに、切ない気持ちを切々と歌うJ.Speaksの説得力溢れるボーカルは、ハートにジーンと染み込んできた。

そして7月4日にリリースされる『IVORY』にも収録されている、ポップなR&Bチューン「月明かりの下で」が披露され、ここで観客にもEPのリリースが告知されて、そのリード・ト ラック「渚のハニー」が歌われた。夏にぴったりな4つ打ちのアッパー・チューンで、彼らのエネルギッシュなパフォーマンスにフロアのボルテージも最高潮に達した。 全6曲という短い時間だったが、Blue Vintageというユニットのライブ・パフォーマンスの素晴らしさ、楽曲のバラエティの豊かさと完成度の高さ、そしてJ.SpeaksのTaigaという2人のキャラクターの魅力が見事に発揮されたステージだった。彼らの今後のブレイクを予感させるような、充実のステージ・パフォーマンスだったといえるだろう。 渋谷VUENOSで定期的に行なわれているイベント“VUENOS chillin”は7月20日（金）に次回開催が決定され、Blue Vintageの出演も決まっている。
