ROLLY、自ら最高傑作を謳う究極のセルフカヴァー・アルバム『ROLLY’S ROCK WORKS』を デビュー日である5月21日にリリース決定

2020年にデビュー30周年という記念すべきアニヴァーサリー・イヤーを迎えるROLLYが、その前年となる2019年＝プレデビュー30周年の年に自らの音楽史を辿るアナザーストーリー的な重要作品として、今まで数々のアーティストに提供してきた楽曲の中からROLLY本人が自ら厳選セレクトしたセルフカヴァー・アルバム『ROLLY’S ROCK WORKS』を自身の記念すべきデビュー日である5月21日(火)にリリースすることが決定した。
自身の作曲のみのアルバムとしては、「鋼鉄のハードロッカー」以来16年振りとなり、新曲2曲も収録予定だ。

ROLLY（当時：ローリー寺西）は、“すかんち”を1982年に結成し、1990年にシングル「恋のT.K.O.」でメジャー・デビュー。「恋のマジックポーション」のシングル・ヒットで世間的にも大注目を浴び、1996年のバンド解散までにオリジナル・アルバム6タイトルに加えベスト盤などもリリースした。解散以降はROLLYとしてのソロ活動、The MANJI、ROLLY & GlimRockersや様々なユニット、プロジェクトなどでの音楽活動、プロデュースを行うのと同時にTV、映画、ミュージカルへの出演など活躍の場を広げ、更なる人気を博している。

本作は、永きに亘りROLLY自身が実現したかった夢のアルバムであり、ファンからのリクエストも多かった待望の作品。収録曲はヴァラエティに富んだセルフカヴァー曲10曲に加え、ROLLY渾身の書き下ろしの新曲を2曲加えた全12曲収録予定。メロディ、展開、アレンジにおいても隅から隅までROLLY節で埋め尽くされた楽曲群は、オリジナルをも凌駕する新たな息吹が注入されることによってカラフル＆ゴージャスでドラマティックな仕上がり。期待値は無限大だ。

レコーディング・メンバーには、ソングライティング、アレンジ、マルチプレイヤーとして才能を発揮、日本の音楽界における重要人物である永井ルイ、長谷川智樹をブレインとして招聘。
セルフカヴァーの原曲にも参加していた2人が、今回再びどんな魔法をかけてくれるのか？非常に興味深い。
さらにドラマーにはTHE ROCK ROLLY時代の盟友である松本淳を迎え、ROLLYの音楽性を深層まで理解し尽くしているメンバーが勢揃いしている。

本作リリース後にはレコ発全国ライヴ・ツアーを実施。日本最大級のエンタテイナーでありロックの伝道師たるROLLYはライヴでこそ真骨頂を魅せ付ける！
