HOT DOG CAT、9月13日より配信限定シングル「ワンダフルライフ」の発売を急遽決定!!

7月に行った1stワンマンライブをソールドアウト。11月18日には、TSUTAYA O-NESTを舞台に2ndワンマン公演も決定しているHOT DOG CAT。今も、精力的にライブ活動を行っている彼女たちが、急遽「配信限定シングル」のリリースを行うことを決めた。日時は、9月13日(金)。タイトルは「ワンダフルライフ」。グループ名の"犬"と今の彼女たちの姿を重ね合わせているところは、茶目っ気いっぱいな4人の姿とも同じく重なって見えるところ。

気持ちに熱いエナジーを注ぎ込むギターサウンドから幕を開ける「ワンダフルライフ」。歌詞へ、「甘くない日々にフルボッコされても 僕たちの悩みなど大概些細なこと」と描写。何千年何万年とかけて作り上げた壮大な景色と比べたら、人の悩みなんて本当に小さくて瞬間的なこと。だからこそ「好き」をつかむため1ミリでもそこへ近づこう、日々頑張ろうと彼女たちは歌いかけてきた。笑顔の裏に、何時だってビビリな気持ちを隠し持っているHOT DOG CATのメンバーたち。その弱い気持ちを打ち消そうと、4人は何時だって歌声に勇気を込め笑顔で届けてゆく。そんな彼女たちの「未来へ立ち向かう心境」が見えてくる楽曲だ。
もう1曲配信になるサビ歌始まりの「イロイロナイロ」は、瞼からこぼれる透明な涙にも、人それぞれいろんな涙を流す理由の色(感情)があることを伝えてきた。4人の滲んだ青春模様の見える歌声も、この楽曲の魅力になっている。

9月15日と16日には初の仙台遠征も決定。9月30日(月)には渋谷REXを舞台にHOT DOG CAT主催イベント「わんにゃん戦争vol.1」も行われる。vol.1と題されたように、主催イベントは定例化していくようこれからの展開にも期待したい。

シチュエーションは異なれ、2曲の中へ未来を見据え走り続けている彼女たちの心模様/青春の風景を投影。もちろんステージでも披露していくように、HOT DOG CATのライブを楽しむためのアイテムとしても、ぜひ「ワンダフルライフ」と「イロイロナイロ」を手元で愛聴していただきたい。
