探るほどに謎が深まるばかり。唯 -YuI-とは一体何者?!

Vagu*Projectの唄歌いギタリストとして活動中のYuIが、バンド活動と並行し、このたび唯 -YuI-としてソロ・プロジェクトを立ち上げた。
Vagu*Projectと言えば、胸に高揚を与えるメロディアスな歌と熱を持って疾走するハードエッジな音楽性や、ライブで示すオラオラな煽りスタイルが支持を集め、毎回のライブでもヘドバンや手の花が咲き乱れる光景を描き出している熱情系のバンドだ。親しみやすくも、胸を熱く滾らせるVagu*Projectの楽曲の数々に共鳴し、ライブや音源を通し魂の炎を燃やし続けているファンたちも数多い。
バンドとして明確な姿勢を示し続けてきたYuIが、なぜ唯 -YuI-名義でソロ・プロジェクトを始めようと胸に決意を示したのか…。その想いは、まだ明かされてはいない。

現在、唯 -YuI-を知る手がかりは、バンド活動とは別に、4月に開設した唯 -YuI-名義によるtwitter(https://twitter.com/YuI_VaguProject)とInstagram(yui_vaguproject)のみ。ただし、まだ具体的な活動については触れられていない。他にもYouTubeチャンネル(https://www.youtube.com/c/MrQPchan)があるとはいえ、そこにアップされているのは「「YuIの１人ぼっちで色々やってみた」シリーズなどYouTuber的な映像が中心であり、唯 -YuI-としての活動に直結する映像はまだアップになっていないように、気になってチェックした方は、むしろもやもやが募っていくのでは??と想像する。

　唯 -YuI-からもたらされた情報によると、不緊急事態宣言が発令され不要不急の外出を制限されていた時期から、今も、唯 -YuI-は本格的なソロ活動に向け音源制作を行ない続けている。気になるCDの発売日は、7月を予定。そのリリースに先駆け作品のリード曲のMVも制作し、いち早く公開をするため、今、水面下で準備も進めている。
今回、掲載したアーティスト写真はVagu*ProjectのYuIとしての写真だが、ここにも伏線があり、唯 -YuI-としての本格的な露出を始めるのが6月に入ってからということから、唯 -YuI-としてのアーティスト写真の解禁に合わせ、ソロ・プロジェクトの内容も少しずつ明かしてゆく。とはいえ、今回が唯 -YuI-として公式に発表する初めての情報のように、先に触れたこと以外にも伝えられる範囲でお届したい。

7月にCD音源として発売する作品には、Vagu*Projectナンバーの中でも支持の高い「Pierce」「Tetris」を収録する。その楽曲が、ピアノを主軸に据えたアンプラグドなスタイル。疾走する楽曲や力強く躍動する歌声の勢いを活かしながらも、流麗に響くピアノの旋律や情熱的な演奏に耳がスーッと惹かれてゆく。明らかにバンドスタイルとは異なる表情を示しているように、ソロとして作り上げる作品の完成が楽しみだ。
他にも、7月のリリースに続き、2ヶ月後となる9月にも新しい音源の発売を計画しているように、唯 -YuI-として動き出したとたん、攻めの姿勢のもと、様々な情報を届けてくれそうだ。

現状、唯 -YuI-としてのライブ活動は控え、音源や映像を中心に、SNSなどオンライン上の展開を中心にしていくことも語っているように、ライブを観れる人たちが特別ではなく、国内中、いや、世界中の人たちが唯 -YuI-の発信する情報を同時に楽しめるはずだ。
まだまだ謎の多い唯 -YuI-のソロ・プロジェクト。これからも、情報が小出しになるのに合わせ届けていきたい。
