Davidが、「Messiah -旧約主-」のMVに映し出した2つの人格とは…。

Davidが、最新アーティスト写真に映し出した、同一人物でありながらも異なる二つの人格。その謎が、少しずつ説き明かされてきた。
　4月13日(水)、Davidは最新コンセプトシングル「Messiah -旧約主-」を発売する。DavidことSUIは、本作について以下の言葉を寄せてくれた。

「Messiah(救世主)」という大きなテーマをもとに、"旧約主"と"新約主"で交わる2つのストーリー及びヴィジュアルで揺るぎない世界を構築し、表現。今回は第一弾の"旧約主"となる。旧約聖書(聖母マリア)と新約聖書(キリスト)をモチーフとした連続作品は2作を通して必聴」

この記事を目にする頃には、「Messiah -旧約主-」MVのFULL Verも公開になっているだろうか。この映像には、アーティスト写真に映し出された二つの人格(姿)を持つDavidが、それぞれの姿を持って登場し、互いに触れ合っている。
「Messiah -旧約主-」に記されたのは、"私"が、罪に汚れた"あなた"を認め、受け入れる姿や想い。やがて授かった、新たな命の胎動。Davidらしい、もの悲しく壮麗な楽曲だ。彼の歌声や届ける言葉に慈愛を覚えるのは、この曲が聖母マリア側の視点で記されているから?と言うことは、Davidが見せた二つの人格は”聖母マリア”と”イエス・キリスト”なのか…。

隠された様々な謎を説き明かす発表が、ますます混迷を増し、想像を掻き立てる。今回、発表になったコンセプトシングル「Messiah -旧約主-」や、そこへ記した想いを映像化したMVは、ここで完結するのではなく、その先へと繋がる序章。もしくは、物語を成す大きな二つの軸の一つなのかも知れない。MVには、Joint ArtistとしてDavidのライブやレコーディングなどにも参加しているЯyu(Ashmaze.)も登場。余談にはなるが、「Messiah -旧約主-」のMVを、噂の映像集団crap dollyが手がけているのも興味深い。

Davidは、活動5周年という節目の時期を彩るように「David 5th Anniversary ONEMAN Tour「旧約誓書」を行えば、今回のコンセプトシングル作品のリリースのように、大きな流れの中へ、物語を紐解く様々な仕掛けを施してゆく。新たな展開は、特設ページから随時情報を発信していくので逐次チェックしてほしい。

噂では、新約聖書(キリスト)を題材にした新しいコンセプトシングル作品が、夏頃に発売になるらしい。今後、発表になるツアー日程を含め、新作のリリースとツアーの展開がどのように絡み合い、物語を綴ってゆくのかにも注目したい。
Davidが次に何を知らせるのか、描き始めた物語へ浸れば浸るほど、次の発表が気になって仕方ない。
